Food Tips Please
Well in the wild budgies breed when food and water is plentiful and the temperature is good as well so yes, by supplying lots of fresh foods it can help to encourage a hen to breed.

How Many In The Aviary?
Well mine is a little bit bigger than yours and i'll soon have 26 budgies in there. I expect you could probably fit about 15 - 20 in yours provided you arrange the perches well so there's plenty of perching space. :hap:

The Blink And His Gang
I decided to test out the babies flying abilities today to see if they're ready for the aviary in the next couple of days. Well i had Blinkie bird out at the same time and Blinks had great fun chasing them around trying to defend all of his territory all at once! :(Laughing out loud): The best bit was when all 3 of them ganged up against the force of Blink. Very angry looking Blinks and Blondie having a beak war. Pudding and Blinkie ignoring each other. Blinkie vs Pud and Gus Blinkie looking like a strange chicken! :hap: Now for some of just the babies. Little Pudding, the little explorer. Blondie...... on Blinks gym!! Gus and Pud Gus If anyone would like to help me figuire out their genders i would love some other opinions. Sometimes it looks like 3 girls, sometimes 2 boys and a girl, sometimes even 3 boys (even though Blondie must be a girl cause of her colour).

Lord Blink

Lord Blink
Oh fine then! You got me! Does Tiggy like his swing? It's one of Blinkie's favourite toys, he sits on it and randomly attacks the bell! :(Laughing out loud):

The Budgies Using Their New Stuff
As requested here are some photos of the budgies enjoying their new perches and toys. Lots of birdies sitting on the dowel perches. Little moulty Jelly sitting on one of the branches. The hanging food plate i made this morning.....still being considered by the budgies, they're not quite sure about it. Blinkie's sexy mummy, Razzo. Not a very good photo but here's Buzz's children. Lemon Bubble Squeak Patrick Lilly and his 2 girls (Jelly and Dimsim) Razzo 'enjoying' the paper towel rolls. Bubble and Gerri considering the new food.

I'm glad everyone like it! Yes, i do feel very satisfied seeing the birds using everything knowing that i made it. Whoever said i should do a course on woodwork or something, i have always joked about becoming a builder just because it's such a guys job and also because there's always those hot young guys who take their tops of when they're working. However, if you had of seen a movie of me attempting to cut the stuff to the right size you would see that i had a lot of trouble, i couldn't stop laughing....it was pathetic!! :(Laughing out loud): I took heaps of photos just now so once i resize them i'll post them in the pictures forum. And if anyone is interested all the wood and nails, screws, etc only cost me $30AU!! I was very pleased!

Bea In Action
Well making the frame only took probably 20 mins including cutting the stuff to the right sizes. We were stuffing around a lot though so we probably spent 3 hours making stuff, cleaning the aviary, catching the budgies, arranging stuff, putting the birds back.

Sure did. Tiki especially seems to like it. I have this feeling that i'll constantly be replacing the string but if they enjoy it then it's worth it.

Lord Blink
Well if my memory's working well i believe i donated that swing to Tiggy's cage so it's only fair that i steal the idea of the ropey thing! :(Laughing out loud):

Purple Cabbage
Blinkie can make the sound but i'm not sure if he actually does the crime.

Installing Nestbox In Cage
If you just got a couple of dowel rods and put them across the cage about 10cm apart it should make a sturdy place for the nest box to sit on, that's what i did when i was using a non-breeding cage.

Which Female For My Budgie?!?!
If you were to breed him with a blue pied or even an opaline blue pied you should get quite a lot of different colours. Spangles, opalines, yellow faces, pieds, etc.
