Hi My Dom pied cinnamon opaline sky blue hen (long name) has purple cheek patches. They aren't deep purple, more light purple lavender. What does this mean. Do you need a photo or two to help?

New Babies
For starters the photos are a bit blurry (use MACRO on your camera). And I do believe you have some dominant pieds. (the ones with the white bald patch on their heads). To me from the photos it looks like you've got a handful of hens and only a couple of cocks. I would wait till someone like Kaz replies as she has owned and breed hundreds of budgies. By the way it's called mutations not colours

Trying Breeding Again
I've had budgies come into condition in a couple of weeks and some have taken months. I found the more vitamin supplements the faster but that is just my opinion.

Yeah good luck I'll be putting my boxes in soon but one of my pairs may not breed. The cock is okay but the hen is a bit young. Could I wait till Jan to breed them Does it matter what time of year?

Blueish Cere On Females.
Thanks Kaz I think in about a month they should all be ready to breed. Good idea about the aircoolers. Maybe I should breed them in autumn? What time of the year do you recommend I breed...

Blueish Cere On Females.
Thank you so much Kaz. All the websites I looked at said that there may be a respiratory problem, but that didn't seem right to me, but thanks for that. I am new to breeding so how should I know when they ARE in breeding condition and how long should they take as I want to breed at the end of this year, OCTOBER-DECEMBER.

What Would I Get?
Hi everyone, Taylor here. It is getting closer and closer to breeding season and I would just like to know what I would get... Here are my pairs: Cobalt Violet factor cock and green opaline hen (this pair is unusual but it was love at first sight for them) grey-green cinnamon cock and dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen (the outcome of these two should be interesting, the hen's father cost the breeder $700!) normal blue cock and normal blue hen (I know, silly question but I think somewhere along the line there was a green in there) Unfortunately for most of these these pairs I don't know much about their parents and siblings. All I know about them is that the dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen's sister looked exactly like her. A few of the cobalt violet factor cock's siblings were violets, to me this means more chances of getting violet chicks from him. If anyone knows what the outcome would be, please reply ASAP as one of my friends is wanting to buy some and she really likes my dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen and it would be great to be able to tell her what she might get. If you need photos just reply to this topic

Blueish Cere On Females.
Hi everyone, Im back from a long couple of months worth of homework! For about a couple of weeks I've noticed that on my inside hen and 2 outside aviary hens, that all of their ceres have gone a light blue colour. The only one that hasn't is my dom pied-opaline-cinnamon-sky blue, Poppy. Hers is a tan colour. The blue isn't as deep as the royal blue ceres my males have, but a very light blue I just wanna know if it is a health issue or not as I am planning on breeding in a few months and defects to the chicks would be devastating.
