Yeah I wrote that post pretty much as soon as I got them, so I didn't have a real close-up look at each of them. What do you think I would get out of each pair? (Colours/mutations, I mean.) The 4 birds I have inside, (2 budgies, 1 cockatiel and 1 princess parrot) are close to the windows that look onto the part of my verandah that is where the 4 outside budgies are. But we have never opened up those windows. Any bacteria/diseases, would have to be carried through the lounge room, through the kitchen, and across the verandah to the left. Poppy and Bing will make some beautiful chicks, as Poppy's father cost the breeder $700. I was going to get her sister and mate, but decided on Sunny and Fern instead.

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know I have added 4 gorgeous budgies to my new aviary. Due to my age (13) I cannot join Photobucket. So instead, please head to this website= http://taylorstails.wikispaces.com I got all 4 from Lloyd Richardson, master budgerigar breeder and judge. All up, they cost me $150. Sunny and Fern will make some great chicks. Poppy and Bing will make some fantastic, show quality chicks. The chicks would be either recessive pied or Violet. Poppy's father cost the breeder $700, so she is worth quite a bit. Sunny's head markings are quite unusual instead of vertical black lines, there are black dots. The top two budgies are my inside ones and the bottom four are the new ones. Hope you enjoy!

    Oh.. thanks Kaz..
  8. I know how you feel, none of my 2 budgies like millet spray. What i do is place a small amount of seed in the palm of my hand, making sure that the only way to get on is via my finger. I use seed as a treat because pellets are their main diet, as well as fruit/vegies. Really it about trial and error. Try something, if they don't like it, try something else. Hope this helps.

Peppa and Matilda are inside. They won't be going anywhere near the outside aviary. I always wondered what their babies would look like. I thought they would have mated last year (2010) but he is old and she is only 18 months old. Yes, he looked even more handsome after those pics were taken. It was hot in my house so I squirted him with some water.

Marcusg6- Great to see that you have identified the colour of your budgie. He is extrmemely cute! All up I would say the rarest colour/mutation out of the 3 would be the YFT2 (Yellow Faced Type II), and even that is not extremely rare. To me I would say he is a rainbow. A rainbow is a mish-mash of colours and striping mutations. It does not mean that they are red, orange, yellow, blue and green!

I love Squash and Kringle. Are they both spangles? I agree with Kaz, they seem to be very well looked after.

Is is just me or do some of the birds in NEST 2, look spangle? Lovely birds Robyn, I would love to have ALL of them in my aviary I especially love Aquarius, I am in love with Yellow-face blues. Will you keep some to breed off of? I would easily pay $30-$45 per bird ! ! ! ! !
