Looks roomy. Like Robyn said change the perches so the birds can fly side to side and I'd replace the plastic perch with a natural branch of Eucalyptus or bottlebrush etc.
  2. I'm thinking mauve because the cheek patches are dark. Opaline. And Australian Yellowface (Goldenface), double factor, the yellow is reduced to the head and wings and there is little suffusion through the body colour.
  3. Male Pied. Out of condition ,you can tell by the flakiness and dry looking cere.
  4. Great Christmas picture Robyn.
  5. I vote for Budgie Mad's photo. The colours are brilliant.
  6. I own pet and show budgies and they make the same amount of noise and are both as friendly as each other. You will get more choice of pretty colours with the pet variety than show.
  7. I would stick with the first one.
  8. I think I have a few of these in my birdroom. Sky blue yellowface mutant 2 spangle. I like opaline in the mix too because you get the beautiful body colour through the wings.
  9. I really love Robyn's and BudgieLovers birds but this month I have to vote for Phoebe's meditating hen.

I'm pretty sure AAE is the cheapest. I have used Dog Tainers also they are good, 30 birds from Melbourne to Brisbane was about $130 if I remember correctly.
  11. Aww, they are all beautiful.
  12. Yes, Creamino is yellowface or goldenface albino. I don't have one, but I do have two yellow faced lacewings, which is the same thing plus cinnamon.
  13. They should be fine. I agree with Paulie about being prepared with hand rearing mix. Learn to crop feed, its much quicker and easier. Also put some millet sprays in the box for the chicks and for the mums to feed the chicks.
  14. Aww thanks for the votes everyone. Can I enter October comp too?
  15. You will get: creamino hens and cocks ino hens and cocks normal split ino cocks yellowface cocks split ino normal and yellow face cocks and hens
  16. If the first few eggs were infertile or didn't hatch the hen may have lost interest and trashed the nest. Disease or weak embryo can be a sign of late or pipping death, the reasons L__J mentioned would be early to mid embryo death. You might also have a problem with humidity, although you said your other nests have chicks. A B12 supplement may also help with hatch rate.
  17. Robyn's pretty hen gets my vote.
  18. Straight from a breeder is the best place to buy budgies.
  19. Hi Budgie Mad yes they are some babies I bred.
  20. Robyn 1. Beautiful bird.
