I had a big double yolker once and it had two embryos. Both died at different stages. Tiny dead embryo on the left and the big one one the right.
  8. Male. I agree with Jenny, not a DEC, possibly looks like a grey green cinnamon spangle (opaline?).
  9. Baby budgies will sleep on the bottom of the cage. How old is your budgie? What does his poop look like?

  14. I have often wondered about breeding temps to. I have not found any info but going by personal experience my birds always have best breeding results in spring/early summer (Melbourne) and the worst in winter.
  15. That looks awesome Jenny.
  16. Congrats on your first egg. Exciting times ahead. Keep in mind some hens may not sit on eggs untill the 3rd or 4th egg has been laid. Hopefully you will have your first pinky in 18-21 days.

Better than white but still not the best for budgies. Why not give your birds some sprouted seed instead. http://www.landofvos.com/articles/sprouts.html
  18. Forget the spray. It won't work for scaley face mite.
  19. Looks like a bad case of scaley face mites. Grab yourself some ivermectin and save yourself a trip to the vet. Vetafarm do Avimec http://www.vetafarm.com.au/products/AVIMEC-50mL.html
  20. I like the first one. How many birds are you going to keep?
