The Definitive Meat Protein Debate
I haven't read all of this thread, but I did read somewhere about a guy who feeds his show birds insects, they are higher in protein then meat and low in fat :laughter: In the wild budgies rip open old logs etc looking for insects to eat. I think birds need protein and especial when breeding. Next time I catch a grasshopper I'm going stick it in there seed :laughter:

My Lacewings And Working On A Line
This thread is also helping me with my birds  Splats and Nubbly5s birds that you have are very nice and your lucky to find someone to help you out with such fine birds. I can also see where my birds are lacking, and what I need to buy in to improve my stud, but as you said where do find these birds and who will sell them to people like me Even at Auctions I get priced out of birds of this quality Thanks GB and Nubbly5

Budgies On Display.
The Sunshine Coast Budgerigar Association's lawn show and open day will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 9am. The public is welcome to come and see what goes on in the world of breeding and showing Budgerigars. Morning tea and refreshments will be available on the day. Please PM me if your interested in going and I will pass on the address and phone number. We are trying to get people interested in the hobby and find some new members :fear The people who are opening up there aviaries and home for the day have been breeding and showing budgies for 25 years and have over 300 birds, so come along and have a look it will be a great day and there will be a guest speaker on the day. Cheers, Geoff

Birdroom Reno
Taboo my set is very ordinary and basic, I dream of having something Kaz, Daz and Clearwing. It will never happen so I have to be greatful for what I have But one thing I am doing is making the best of the space I have I am always trying to make it more friendly useable and this shelf system is part of that. Like I don't have to get down on my hands and knees now and vaccum the seed underneath and at the back of the cages on the floor, ( it was a very hard job and and I always thought it sucked) :fear Well it looks big in the pictures I have been to Daz's and for it's size it's very well set-up. How many breeding cages do you have?
