This is a very interesting read. Animals inbreed in the wild all the time. In the animal kingdom it all seems pretty normal.

  11. Hi Amy, I live not far from you, Maleny. I'm sure you would have picked up some nice birds from the club president. Welcome aboard. Geoff

Maybe 20 to 30. I think it will make a great aviary, nice one
  16. Nice to meet you Dave, sorry we didn't have much time to talk mate. There most expensive bird sold for $3200 by Bob Smith and it was a Opaline Grey Green hen and I don't no who bought it. Ian Hunters birds were very nice and they also sold for top dollar, with one going for $1700. One of Garry Gazzards sold for $2500 and there were heaps more that sold for over $1000. There were no bargains to be found. I bided on about 25 birds out of a 172 and came home with nothing, my budget was around the $250 mark for a bird. Yes I'm disappointed and I would really like to tell you what I really think @#$% but I won't But I will say that I will not be going again to this auction and there are certain vendors that I will never buy birds off. The auction was very well run and the club did a great job. Keep it real!

Sounds promising, all the best with those eggs
  22. Taboo replied to ralph's topic in Breeding Tips
I don't breed during winter because I believe it puts to much stress on the hens. Plus there's more chance of a hen getting egg bound. But I do know of breeders with insulated bird rooms who breed all year round and from memory Henry George is one of them.
  23. I'm a big fan of yellow face greys and he looks nice.
  24. Just use the ivermectin and do twice a year. I do my birds before putting them down to breed, just two drops on the back of the neck. I have read that over treatment can cause infertility, and I do not like to over medicate my birds.
