It looks like you guys had a lot of good quality birds at that auction. Glade your all happy with your purchases. We had our BRASEA auction on the weekend and we only had 10 Henry George birds there and some went for as little as $70 to $100. And from memory his best sold for $590. Bob Smiths birds seem to get top dollar up here and they sold for the most coin.

I really like his birds but I have never been able to win the bidding at the auctions. As they sell for big dollars, as you would expect from a champion breeder. I'm sure this auction will be HUGE!

Wow the pictures of the birds were stunning. I was amazed to see the BIG names in show birds not doing as well as I expected. Maybe it's because most people now have there blood lines in there stock and the gap between them and the average breeder has closed sum? Well done to all who represented there state. And congratulations to NSW.

Were they in breeding condition when you put the box in? Make sure you have some cuttle fish or calcium block for the hen to eat, she will need more calcium at this time to produce healthy eggs. Also make sure you keep an eye on the hen, they can get egg bound more easy during winter breeding. You could also remove the box if there not in condition and try again in spring which is a more natural time for them to breed.
