Thanks!! Don't worry about me being overly anxious about Marigold, I think it's my brother you have to worry about! Yes it is my first time breeding, though not my first attempt. When I was eight I had a go and I had a fake egg in the nesting box and my hen went in and I got excited until I peeked into the box with her inside. She was kind of playing soccer with it! It is Marigold's first time too I think.

What type of hawk? We had crows in the chook pen so we netted them and got them out by hand. I think the experiance scared them so much that they never went near it again. Maybe if you get something they dislike and hang it up around the avairy? Netting would work too.

Probably is. I know a budgie who learnt how to wolf-whistle of a cockatiel and I think it learnt how to swear because it told me to shut up!

In the wild they'd use a hollow tree, which would be dark. I wouldn't worry about the lighting if they're used to it.
