He did "feed" my finger one lil seed the other day!Charley likes me to scratch him like that with my nose and he makes sure my nose gets right in there (to his scrawny little neck!!! ...) they "smell" so nice, kind of a (clean) furry smell! Its the cutest thing when they close their eyes and really enjoy it isnt it!!I love their smell 2, sort of fresh & feathery! Except when they're wet after a bath... 4. I had an absolutely beautiful female budgie. We got her very young & didnt know the sex so we called her Wally & referred to her as "he" - i still think of her as a he actually!! But she was the friendliest thing EVER, & she did actually talk! Not a lot, but she could say "Wally", "eh chicken", "Wally chicken" & various combinations of these! He also copied a few of the whistles we did, & even made the noise of the squeaky bathroom door. We had a favourite song, & every time it came on the radio i would call him (oops, i mean her!) & she would fly to my shoulder & dance with me! She loved anything even vaguely like a nest hole & would crawl right into our pockets, or into a sock you had just taken off. Actually, if you opened your mouth she would practically climb right in if you weren't careful! She loved to play on the floor too, & would sometimes hop along on 2 feet like a sparrow, i've never seen another budgie do that! She would "kiss" us while making big smoochy noises. We once went away for a weekend & left a neighbour to change her food & water etc, & when we returned she was so mad at us! She would sulk in her cage & not come out to play!! So from then on we brought her with us if we ever went away anywhere. In her last years (she lived for 11) she did start to get vicious towards any male people who came into the house & would fly to their shoulder then bite them extremely hard, & she did actually become egg bound when she was about 10- don't know why she suddenly decided to have an egg after all those years (& there were no other budgies around!) but the vet was able to remove it fairly easily. But we had many fabulous years with her, she was loads of fun & a great little friend!
  5. Here's Peanut chasing a moth around, very cute! (if it works...!!) http://s674.photobucket.com/albums/vv105/n...=MOV01610-1.flv http://s674.photobucket.com/albums/vv105/n...nt=MOV01612.flv (& sorry about the crappy filming, & the irrelevant background conversation!!)

  9. My handsome boy!
  10. Kaz, they are SO pretty! Love the one sleeping in the seed container! (budgie of the month??) My previous budgie (who escaped ) used to take (dry) baths in her seeds regularly... i had to buy a seed container with a smaller opening because she just made SUCH a mess!!

  13. such cuties!! Looking forward to seeing them grow!
  14. i'm no good at working out gender, but these guys are awesome at it! Just wanted to say that Muppet is beautiful!
  15. Well done, gorgeous budgie, great picture! I've been taking so many pics of Peanut that i swear the first "non-Budgie" sound he'll learn will be the noise my camera makes! :offtopic:
  16. No social skills? Sounds like my son who has mild autism. Can budgies get autism?? (just kidding... :offtopic: )
  17. If you want to see budgies who talk really well,go onto YouTube (I think it's just youtube.com) & under "search", type in "talking budgie". There are heaps of great little videos there, including budgies who talk in different languages- so cute!!
  18. Yep, Peanut finished eating up his "girlfriend" the seed bell. But all is not lost... because now he's in love with... THE LEFT OVER PLASTIC STICK!! :offtopic: Crazy little guy! Actually it makes a good 'tool' to get him playing with me- i can use it to scratch him etc then swap with my finger! It's also making him explore unused areas of his cage- i keep moving it for him to go & find. Right now it's nestled in some silverbeet (he hasn't quite caught on about eating vegies yet) & he's eyeing it warily!

 It's SO cute hearing them talk in foreign languages in their funny 'robotic' voices! there's a budgie i've seen on YouTube too, which speaks Japanese, it's gorgeous! It says (pardon my spelling, i don't speak Japanese) 'aligato' & 'sayonara' among other things! it's female owner has a really sweet, high voice, & so does the budgie! If i find it again i'll post the link! but i often go in there & just write 'talking budgie' in the search box & see what comes up! there's also an awesome English one called (if memory serves) Charlie, who is now RIP but talked amazingly!
  20. cute video! What a busy little cage you have there!
  21. He is beautiful! He looks a lot like my little budgie Peanut. He looks really healthy, you've obviously done a great job caring for him. Reading all your previous posts, you sound so caring- i'm really glad you posted on here & were able to get the great advice you've been given. He's a lucky little bird to have you for a "dad"

He's SO cute! I had always planned to call my next budgie "Daffy" (short for Daffodil if it was female ) but my little guy is just such a funny little peanut that i couldn't name him anything but Peanut!!
  23. Oh MM, that is SO sad. I hope your injured ones will be okay.
