What a cute story! Peanut's current favourite is his "olympic rings" toy with the bell at the bottom- every morning as soon as we uncover him he gets out on top of his cage & unhooks it so it falls to the bottom of the cage, then he hops back in & plays with it down there! At first i thought he didn't realise what he was doing, but when i hooked it back up he immediately hopped out & did it again!

I totally agree! I once picked a pet budgie for it's cute looks, but i should have picked the one who was nibbling on my son's finger, as the "cute" one was the most terrified creature i'd ever seen, she'd just about have a heart attack whenever anyone came near her cage- it took AGES to tame her!!

He's about 10 months old. I'll post some new pics of him soon, though he's looking a bit ratty coz because he's having a big summer moult!

Peanut can now say "budgie boy" very clearly! It's very cute!! Unfortunately whenever i try to film him he won't say it! He chirps & bobs around & pecks the camera... i'll keep trying!

Qwerty is SO cute! Love the video!! I too am amused by the terms "English budgie" & "American budgie"... budgies are Aussies!! My little male, Peanut, is 10 months old & has just learned to say "Budgie boy!" Will post a video as soon as i have one!

Well, 10 month old Peanut is finally starting 2 talk!! (English that is, he's been able to speak Budgie for a long time, lol!!) As soon as i get the chance i'll try to film him... but he can say "Budgie boy!" Sometimes it's SO clear, & he has the cutest little voice!!

My previous pet budgie (female) used to take "baths" in her seeds - like wild birds having a dust bath I guess- it was really cute & i imagine it felt really nice for her, but she would make SUCH a mess, i had to buy her a seed container with a much smaller opening!

Thanks everyone! This was my previous pet budgie, Pingu, who unfortunately escaped so I'm glad i could win this little award for her! It didn't take her long to figure out what lived inside the millet box, but even when it was empty she loved to crawl inside it, "nest", & chew on the cardboard!
