  1. If you read in the top post some eggs where fostered over. Can we get a shot of those birds as well?
  2. So am I Lady. Great spangle Markings on the blue one.
  3. She could have had a fight with the dad, the bubs or even just scared herself and hit a box. It should have stopped bleeding by now. If she isn't having trouble standing on a perch or eating and drinking this is a good sign. If still trouble you can take the family to a avian vet for her to be check on.

Welcome Allison all your birds look great. I would stay Pistachio is a Yellowface type two opaline grey wing. And agree with Cheeta the third and fourth baby look to Opalines (the youngest is too young to say) Karen those two have white down feathers the two oldest have grey down feathers.
  5. okay Daz here is my thoughts: Pair 3 are the parents. Simply becuase you didn't tell us the colour of the hen. All other pairs are of the blue line. pair 1 - should have only cinnnamons pair 2 - only blue babies, spangle, normal or DF.
  6. Yes they do and it is best to have it done correctly the first time
  7. Nothing as yet. Just talk about the best way to fix the doors.
  8. Paul - yes it seems Standbyme is using a plastic nest box, some members here have done so.
  9. One is from a friend that I use as hospital/ travel cage when needed. It is been left resting for a while after a BIG clean out after having a lost canary in it for a while. Two others I got about 1/2 a year ago from family that had teils in them. I have never used them as yet, one is very rusty and I've only kept it becuase it is the same shape as the travel cage and I can use the plastic base as a replacement if needed. Also the nest boxes can with the aviary and I have cleaned them. Thrown out some and left the others (in the shed) in cause I could re use them later.
  10. Yes Elly I think it's an eye lid too, was just pointing out the area that people are seeing.
  11. :ausb: that all sounds great. He is a real clever little man. It is a good idea to keep them away from our mouths due to bacteria in them (as well as the biting) the corn is fine for them, as well as corn on the cob or even tinned corn. He might start moulting any moment now, it normally starts around the 3 month mark.
  12. :ausb: Yeah I seemed to have collected a few over the years.
  13. It is hard to tell but I would lean towards female for the both of them. The youngest could be male but the rings around the nares look strong in the picture. If you want to try again try in a really bright room or even get a few lamps close together with the bubs under them to help with the macro and the blur.
  14. Look closely at the second picture and there is a line that could be an iris ring or the eyelid of the bird. The best bet is a test breeding with a normal as Daz suggested.
  15. I remember you taking Lukie on holidays with you (or asked about it) so I'm sure there is a cage that is left open all day. This is correct isn't it? The ignoring him until he is quiet is good, as well as a 'time out' session. This has worked for others. A new toy ( more more) can also help the behaviour.
  16. Barnacle goose? Just to be sure Sailorwolf Bell bird was correct for your picture?

well that makes sense Mine are all together and since I don't have room in my area for another flight cage it is going to stay that way.
  18. thought you said it was hard. Your turn Sailorwolf.
  19. Thanks guys after thinking and talking about it for a while it's good to make a big step like this. Feathers Yes I am I was made a member of Pine River Budgie Club the other week. I felt it was the best way to learn more on other aspects in keeping these stunning birds. So far I have two pairs in mind for later. Poka - recessive pied green/blue and Elle - YF normal/recessive pied. and Thistle - violet spangle and Squeaker - YF normal/opaline/Clearbody

Remember to quarantine the new birds Allen. Good for you to take them in. The friendly one might help with the other not to be afraid of humans later.
  21. Thanks guys. Just so it's clear the shelves where already there I just had to get them moved to the right hight. and clean it out of all the junk. This shows (i hope) the placement of the shed that is to become the breeding area and the aviary.
  22. Glad to hear he is on the mend. He is a nice one.
