  1. Thanks all I'm still hunting down a name for this one.

:(Laughing out loud): we had a cold snap with all the rain. Normally it would still be hot. The cage looks great Karen. Bet the leaves didn't last long.
  3. Baby number Four is here again a day ( or at lest a night) head of time.

My fingers are crossed for you. I was going to post that in the mean tim eto get him warm as you can, a normal bed lap shining into his cage as close as possible give off heat that he can sit under. 35-40 deegees c (don't know it in f) is best for them while they are ill, my vet (avian) told me to do this when my Freckle was ill. The heat makes it so they don't what to use enrgy to keep their temps up and fight what ever it is that is wrong with them. Keeping the cage covered will also help for he will sleep longer to save energy as well. I do have a question. Are you sure he was sick? you said that it looked 'just like reguritation' which is why i'm asking. When a budgie (or bid) is vomiting it's a violent looked action where the head is tossed ans seed is thrown everywhere and tend sto get stuck to the head. It will also make it look as if they are sweating as the feathers are stuck together. Where as reguritation is a gentle bobbing of the head. Another thing if you still can, collect a bit of the seed his has 'thrown' up for the vet to check and look around the cage or on your friend for any yellow mucus type gunk. (that's not a good thing to have) If you do find it tell your vet (if he doesnt' ask)
  5. Just be careful with the double posting, the updates were understandable. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=4266 this thread has two links to websites that show what you should see in the eggs. With the second one you should see something like in picture three on day 5. How old where the eggs when you candled them?

Do we have an update on this little man? I didn't see this post the first time, I jhope he is o becuase the behaviour of sitting fluffed up and sleeping alot is a big sign screaming 'sick bird' to other bird while us humand think they are just having an off day.
  7. It dpends if your cock is a blue line or yellow line bird. But Texas Clearbodies are sex-links so all clearbody babies from this pair will be female, while the males will be split for it. If the male is blue you will get 50% of either yellowfaces or white face blues. If he is yellow then you will get green males and yellow females (from the clearbody gene) unless he is also split for blue then you will get 50% green, 25% yellowfaces, 25% white face blues.
  8. they look great How is Little Mayo going? Is his feathers growing in?
  9. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in Health Questions and Tips
Yeah be careful, over grown cere can been as sign of cysts. This is what Tootie has.
  10. I have NEVER seen a spangle with out that mark, I think it's a part of the gene.
  11. Yes Three chicks All a day apeat from the last! I'm wondering if the next might hatch on Monday intead of tuesday like it's meant to. They were all good this morning. At lest I can tell Berry apart from the other two I will add a picture of the three soon. Taken this morning Taken this evening
  12. Please don't use text shortcuts on here like you would in a chat programe (like msn) From starting to mate to the first egg is around a week to nine days. They will continue to mate, as much as they can. Is this your first time at breeding? I see you have ten birds are these two in a breeding cage or are your colony breeding? As in nest boxes set up in an avairy. Is this the first time for either the male or the female, or both? It can take longer for them to work everything out if it is.

    I've never heard of it.
  14. *Nerwen* replied to Bea's topic in Budgie Pictures
    Yeah I would think goldenface.
  15. I'ld sleep with an eye open Bea Guess what!!!!!!!! Berry is here. Yes that's right I'm calling this little one Berry. I said Tootie was a good brooder, unless all these little ones are just rushing to get named :glare: I think Berry only just hatched, I only peaked now (I had already checked for the night) becuase Tootie poked her head out after I had to yell after my name was called (we broke a dish in the kitchen I was the only one not there that could get shoes to clean up) I say that becuase the egg shell was still right there next to him (i keep wanting to say her since I think Berry as a girls name )
  16. Sounds like they are trying to mate, if she doesn't sit correctly or he loses his balance then he will fall or jump off and start again.
  17. *Nerwen* replied to Bea's topic in Budgie Pictures
Bea you almost made me faint with the first few pictures I thought you had a half sider!!! He is stunning and a real character already
  18. I think Jelly bean is cute too, but Bea has darling little Jelly and I can't steal that name since I'm still plotting to steal her way :(Laughing out loud):
  19. oh *hits head* if she is a grey green then there is a possible for greys as well
  20. *Nerwen* replied to Bea's topic in Budgie Talk
Aww Bea he sounds great I can't wait to see a picture of him. and I LOVE the name
  21. Well I was thinking Newton was clear wing, the flight feathers are almost white and the body colour looks strong. What the colour is called is a bit confusing, she doesn't look dark enough for olive, I think greygreen. But the last pictures does make her look like a dilute. Napoleon I think is a type one with the new photos Hurdy found. There isn't any bleed that I can see and looks as if the head bars have gone. What we do know: you will get greens unless Newton is split blue then you will get yellow faces as well. And either some form of the dilute gene showing on all babies :grbud:
  22. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in Health Questions and Tips
Jangles looks like that some times, I tell her she needs a crop bra
  23. Thanls all, I can't think of them by anything else right now, I will keep them if they still suit with the feathers I even have a name for the third one.....I'm not saying until it hatches I don't want to jinx it.
  24. Yes from the one I was wondering/worried about
  25. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in Budgie Pictures
