aww I want I want I want :hap:
  9. Yeah Better safe than sorry :budgiedance:
  10. Ohh Fingers crossed he is okay and the stuff he was given will settle everything down. Hoping it's the worms I'm sure they would be the easiest to treat (if it has to be any :budgiedance:) Good to hear that he was eating again.
  11. Look closely at the pied patch, what colour is it?
  12. :(Laughing out loud): I'm sure they will.
  13. I guess she is in an aviary and the birds got to have raw eggs, high in protein :dbb1: You don't have another pair do you? I was thinking you could move a few to them if you did. Yes you could candle and remove the clear ones but they might only be clear becuase they are the newest ones laid. 7 would be a lot to take care of, but it's up to you on what you want to do.

cute little baby :dbb1: It sounds like one egg is dud, since it should hae hatched when this one was 2 days old. I hope you don't have to remove dad this time he will be albe to help a lot more near the end.
  15. :dbb1: It's not best to pug breeding even if your loving the idea of breeding yours. Have a male and female can add to worry of breeding and nesting in strange area if not suplying a box, and then egg bound hens. Althought there are plenty that get along fine with out any breeding hassles. If you don't want the consurns then get another male (if you can trust your self to pick one out when young)
  16. Good luck with your birds I think you a might have more eggs on the way since she isn't due for the next until tomorrow. (17th) If they are still mating (if you saw or heard any) then truly so. The hen will stop mating once she has her full clutch and the average is 4-5 eggs.
  17. That's It Phoebe,t eh vet have to extra studies for bird and reptiles (they are done together) other than that it's just basic stuff and many will not see a bird years in between. I'm glad to hear she didn't charge you for that, When are you seeing the other vet?
  18. Hugs. I think you have done all your can to let her settle and recover. I think shock would have done it's damage by now. Just make sure to keep her warm.
  19. :dbb1: PM Fairy I can get use to that nick name. Yes Lovey don't think too far from your first guess, which I said before the recessive pied bit was correct. Hurdy as given a big hint with his picture of Fourteen. As to the spots your right they are from the pid gene.
  20. What Hurdy said is what I think.

interesting cere that one has it looks all white. With these birds the male normally has a ver clear pink cere which remains pink all their life. While the hens get the normal brown cere when grown. While young their are a bluish colour with white or lighter blue around the nostrils. That picture makes me think female.
  22. are there a lot of fluff feathers around both of their vetn area? they can mate mating unsuccessful somtime. The wing might be a problem a bit still. Umm SHe might be sitting on the long enough, remember they are laided every two days and the last eggs might not have gotten the full time brooding to hatch before she left them. I would suggest you candle the eggs this time to give you a better idea. You do this when the egg is 5 days old (if not marked you would have to check all of them each time) and look for fine red lines by shinning a light through them. There is a pinned topic that has links to some website to show you. I'm not sure what you could do about her quitting.
  23. your closer now Lovey At lest you have realised that the yellow on it means the first bit was wrong. Your right with the recessive pied bit.
  24. wow me too I think I would have been telling her off as soon as I saw the book. With my vet he might as a few question and get the history of the reson I'm there but quick smart he ha the bird in his hand and checking them all over. Fingers crossed this other one is better, If not I would get some stuff for scaly mites at a pet shop to treat with. Not the best but better than nothing.
  25. Ohh This will be interesting to see what happens. What is with Ash been introduced to Crystal ??? Did you take her for a check up to cut down the time or something else?
