Is He Ill?
Sitting Fluffed up and sleeping a lot more is a sign of sickness. You did good to turn up the heat. If you have a spare cage it might be an idea to move him to that and keep three sides covered. That why you can check the poops and any other odd behaviour. A bed lamp shining into the cage will give extra warmth as well. When they are sick they have to work harder to keep a normal temp which is why they sit fluffed up, giving him extra heat makes it so they can work of healing more. If he i still sitting fluffed and/or his poops get worse I would look into seeing your vet.

Nesting Boxes
I realised when Tootie started a small moult about five days before the egggs where due that it might be a normal thing beucase Freckle did the same thing. It would be funny to see other coloured feathers in there too. I didn't think of the moisture side of kitty litter I was thinking of babies eating bits of it ( the dust) and who knows what that would do to them.

Trill Stars
Mine came in a bright yellow padded envelope

Sticky Poop
If I just saw the white bits I would be worried too. Let us know what the vet said I have my fingers crossed that it's nothing.

Dud Eggs..
I think at this age if the egg is clear then it's infertile. As to the dark one I'm not sure it might be a sign of a chick there or a dud egg. If your willing to wait a bit I think leaving both in to be sure.

Blind Budgie
aww Budgie bird I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope she gets better, is there some smelly veggs she likes that might help her to some food? I know there smell isn't great but it's there. I would also think about sprinkling seeds on the ground of the cage, that way she can forage around to collect some food. I know it's not very healthy but if to keep her means cleaning a bit more often I would.

Trill Stars
Gee this was ages ago, so much that it took me a while to work out the connection to Golden Cob on the envlope to Trill :bluebudgie: You get two treats per bag and i think they are a pain to get out, I broke a bit off on edge while trying to do so :ausb: But I gave one to the lot in the big cage and thy enjoyed it, while it lasted Which was around half and hour. All I can say is I'm glad they were free. I don't think I would pay the price in the shops for them

Can You Give Your Budgie Too Much Calcium?
I give veggsi every day and the ones in the big cage and Marine and tootie nibble at their cuttle bones so I've stopped given extra on the veggies. I didn't do it every day maybe every secodn or third and they havn't dug into the bone since I stopped so I think they have enough.

Little Mig
would you now Lovey?? Una he is a cutie.

Nesting Boxes
Well it's not recomened to use in the bottom of cages so i wouldn't think it would be good to use in a box.
-
New Aviary
near by water sorce (tap) would be handy for cleaning the bottom of the cage and refilling In the breeding area a bench/sesk would be helpful for when you handle chicks and keep records and if you want to ring the chicks you can use that space and place to rest food dishes when you have more than one to give ot to each cage.

Introducing Star And ?
great looking birds there Joining the type 1 and 2 yellow faces tend to get more green bleed on the body almost to normal green. Dilute is recessive gene. All will be green unless your new girl is split for blue.

Wanted! Pics Of Blue Or Green Spangles!
male yellow faced blue type II x sky blue hen Yellow face type 2 blues and normal blues. Can't say what type of blues, if your male is cobalt then half like him and half sky blue like mum. If both sky blue all will be sky blues. male yellow faced blue type II x recessive violet cinnamon pied hen yellowface blues type 2 and normal blues. Some can be violets yet will look like a cobalt. All males will be split for cinnamon and all will be split for recessive pied. Blue cinnamon (head spot) x sky blue hen Cobalt blues Sky blues All females will be cinnamon All males will be split for cinnamon The head spot act more of a dominant pied gene, but not a lot is known about it, some say it acts like a sex linked gene. You might get some with the head spot blue cinnamon (head spot) x recessive violet cinnamon pied hen Cobalt blues Some might be violets but will look cobalt All babies will be cinnamon All babies will be split for recessive pied You might get some with the head spot blue cinnamon (head spot) x green spangle female hen okay you told me both parents where green: Green spangles Green normals Green Cinnamons (female) All males will be split for cinnamon All chicks will be split for blue You might get some with the head spot male yellow faced blue type II x green spangle hen I'm taking it for granted that the spangle is only single factor: Half green spangles slpit for yellowface blue Half green normals split for yellowface blue. As to which one to get, pick the heathest looking one as you can see if you get the green spanlge you can breed one of her spangle babies to a blue later and get blue spangles.

100% Weird!
yeah That's the sort of ting I was mean/thinking it's now just a routine to him, but like humans it can get out of hand and become compusive. (sp?)

Nesting Boxes
I have seen others use paper towels and had no troubles with the chicks, but I don't like the idea of use that it turns to mush when wet which I think would be easy for a chick to chew on getting paper and droppings around and in the beak which can cause trouble. Where as the shavings clump around the droppings.

male yellow faced blue type II x skyblue hen Yellow face type 2 blues and normal blues. Can't say what type of blues, if your male is cobalt then half like him and half sky blue like mum. If both sky blue all will be sky blues. male yellow faced blue type II x white recessive violet cinnamon pied hen yellowfacew blues type 2 and normald blues. Some can be violets yet will look like a cobalt. All males will be split for cinnamon and all will be split for recessive pied. the male i discribed above x skyblue hen this is the same as the first piar the male i discribed above x white recessive violet cinnamon pied hen again this is just as the second pair above the male i discribed above x green spangle female hen I'm taking it for granted that the spangle is only single factor: Half green spangles slpit for yellowface blue Half green normals split for yellowface blue. If the hen is split ofr blue then: 25% green spangles slpit for yellowface blue 25% green normals split for yellowface blue. 25% yellowface blue spangles 25% yellowface blue normals male yellow faced blue type II x green spangle hen this is just the same was what was asked above.

At Last - babies
I have a feeling Squeaker is going to be a normal green and I'm hoping Echo and Berry are blue normals. No clue with Reepiceep will be and Scuttle is too young to tell yet but he is getting the same colour black dots and fluff coming in as the others. Here is a picture of them all again. I relised it had been a while since you all saw th last three As you can see Reepiceep has dark marks on his wings but still none on his body. Berry looks to be coming through with white tipped wings like Echo.
