Sorry guys.. I spent the afternoon Seting up the new Shed... But the concrete slab was too small. By the time I finished, cleaned up, and got onto the concreter it was too late to teke the chicks photos... But I got Ash's in the show cage. He's grown up a bit. Ash I had a look at the chicks and I am a bit confussed. Snowy is starting to look like a sky blue spangle?? I don't know if its my eyes. Photos will be up tomorrow afternoon.

It look like I have a YellowFace type II and a Sky Blue Grey wing..... Last Weeks Pictures Snowy Chime I will take up to date photos of these two tomorrow. Chime has developed a deep yellow face with the charactoristic bleed through the body. Giving him a Golden Face Parblue. Snowy is developing a Sky blue body with Greywing mutation. Dad is a normal skyblue / ???? and mum is a Goldern Face Spangle. Mum - Spangle Dad - Bluey

Greeny is having problems starting her 2nd clutch as the chicks keepcoming and going from the nest. Even though the cock help raise them I am stillgiving her a rest. But to raise a clutch by her self and start a second clutch is a big ask. I would really think about fostering or incubating the eggs to give her a rest.

Seems like she is going okay. Let us know how the others candle?

Thats great nerwen.. okay egg 1 is 6 days good to candle.. egg 2 is 4 days... okay a bit early to candle (i was told 5 days old is when you really know)..but the last ones I candled where at 18 and 16 days old. . Egg 3 is 2 days old and egg 4 is new. Candle egg 2 tomoorow, egg 3 monday and egg 4 wednesday... lets hope eggs 3 and 4 are okay. One thing I would do is to get a box of Budgie Starter. and slowly put the parents on that. You can get it from Brendale Produce or good pet stores. It is a protien base additive good for health chicks. If the parents get used to it they will be ready to feed the new born chicks. Start the parent on it about a week before the first egg is about to hatch .

From the photos Bea would be right. Three girls... The cinnamon gene can not be 100% certain that it is a girl. There could be a split geen that can cause a male.

Allan you can get one from the pet store at Strathpine Shopping Centre across from EB Games. I got one call a pet Shuttle. Its okay. The Show cage I have I got Second hand for $15 from the Club. (Pine Rivers Budgie Club) They are $30 new.

Up date time... The new shed has arrived and the concrete slab went in today. Short term Plan:- Saturday build new shed and bolt to slab. Relocate gear to new shed... throw out rubbish. Sunday clean old shed ready for renovation. Monday go back to work to get money for renovations. ......to be continued.... with photos.

Alan I missed the Pine Rivers Show and that is my club... I here we had over 700 birds on display. Would have been good. If you are interested in joining a club. Try Pine Rivers. They meet every third monday in th month at the show grounds. Next meeting is 27th Feb. at 7:30am. Meeting only goes for 1 1/2 hours. I'll be there. Got to pick up my rings. Sorry to here this...but how did you try to feed it? I just dip my fingur into some milk and let a small drop drop on to the tip of the chicks beak. It will drink it in. You do this four or five times and see the crop change colour. This should give enough energy to the chick to start calling. Greeny's first chick Vagas wasn't getting feed from the start. I needed to feed her about four times before Greeny got the idea and then she was away.
