Green Tail?
Those interesting flight feathers you mentioned......is it because of the dark edge ? If so................all these chicks have the same look im not sure but i would say its as the colour of each bird is on the feather intill it gets to the dark points you can see do i make sence normal birds would have just plain black all along

Jetrick's Breeding Journal
well i dont know but my albinos they been very slow starters very weak chicks and so small but i let nature take course and with 7 eggs three 3 hatched on with help and two were not strong enough to get out and died on way very sad 2 of the three that hatched selfs were so small and very weak but all chicks grew rather large infact some my best chicks to date albinos and lutinos do take up to two years to really come to their potential size as do lacewings keep it in mind

Making A Baby Budgie Friend For Houman
so no pics today as rained all day till this arvo where i had to go out for trip so but rang third chick today ring 3664 and will need to ring fourth chick tomorrow as their feet are so stumpy i think the first chick is defenently from my grey dom pied cock and cin hen as its feet are thiner and legs much longer not concistent with other chicks but still will need to see also being opaline and the dom pied grey cock is opaline so unless my skyviolet is split opaline whick murphys law states he will be lol if not though ive found my chick yeppy woo hoo id be extatic if it is the pairing was one my best pairs i have but the storm scarred allbirds from nest but that egg was just laid so i fostered it (stupid didnt mark it as thought all chicks would be greay one thing is all the chicks from the cinn and sky have to be sky or light green so and the other pair could be cobalt or grey or ....gr...skyblue lol oh well its a hen so its staying here regardless :glare:

Green Tail?
yes i would send one to clearwing also hes also been in birds for ever and can point you in right direction as to pairings and mateings needed to be done to double up the mutated gene if at all one is present
-
My 2010 Journal
the chick will be double factor yf if not showing a yellow face which means that when you breed him or her that if paired to a white faced bird all chicks will be yf of one type or the other you pics are so beautiful im loving this thread beautiful defenently a opaline chick by way
-
Green Tail?
yes but you need the brothers and sisters also to truley find out if its a new mutation
-

Is This Hen A Cinnamon Wing?
or you could put her to the mauve boy and get split grey wing cocks and hens then change partners to another normal id say cobalt if possable keep that dark factor happening and get another lot of split greywing chicks then next year you can pair these half brother sisters and get greywing and normal chicks and all would be very pretty as mauve x mauve = mauve add the yf and half will be yf mauve f or mauve normals add the grey wing factor and you will get yf greywings in mauve and yf mauves in normal and normal mauves all her chicks will be split to grey wing always as its a rececive gene with a cobalt you will get maves and cobalt chicks same story as above

New Member With Colour/variety Question
your birds are beautiful i think you have either a lacewing yellow hen as the tail feather has a cinnamon (brown)strip down middle of it this is if her eyes are red could be a cinnamon lutino if cheek patches are white as ino does not mask cinnamon everything but .. if they are black then i think you have a cinnamon yellow bird possibly a df spangle but im not sure she is so mabe a dark eyed clear but i did think they were ment to have clear wings not sure beautiful birds what ever their variety
