  1. hi i lost a young chick other day and relized it was due to chill so i decided with the weather the way it was to do something now not latter i can already see and hear improvment in my flock here is my wind block i made it from 4 fence pallings a few nails some industrial cling wrap (as its breatherbale ) and some plastic bags that i get my sand in i just atatched them to my sun shades which are removable so if i do happen to get a warm day out of the blue i just take the side pannles off and fix back at dusk here are the pics any questions im happy to answer and i will post some the happy ocupiants when someone posts
  2. as i said other wize you standing near a reflection
  3. i second that rip is the mutation master when it comes to yf type anything i say olive then i knew it wasnt yf though I would so totally listen to this lady she knows what she is saying Awww shucks.
  4. um cranberry kaz was right i did just read down to her post and just grab it and state my thoughts i do that woops but it stands what i wrote however kaz is dead on with her asumption i just grabbed at one certain line as i did very intewitive of you kaz
  5. cranberry breeders stock is only worth what it is to the person for example i am breeding albinos from a breeders line her in my town i chose his line as i loved all his birds when i saw them i could never go to the dealer where i get other good breeders culls (good ones ) and get a bird of any way near as important as any of his birds to my stud even his smaller culls are of great importance to me some times as when you see all the family relaited to my birds then if your a good breeder you use them birds small or not the right way and your going to suseed in breeding large birds also this breeders smaller culls would be more inportaint to me now than anything to keep the breeders look in my birds so by time i have enough of my own breed stock from his stock out crossed to other breeders stock i will then need these what look like **** pet culls to bring back and out the larger genetics that my line holds but does not show blood line is very importaint in that sence so buying from breeder is really a matter of nececerty sometimes regardless of what the bird looks like its sometimes what it holds and not all breeders charge through the nose for good birds but i would never expect to walk out with a dinimight bird unless they have got better or decide its not working for them anymore but thats not to say wont work for you at least you get told it may not work but then choise is yours to buy or not
  6. i have to say that this is not so kaz with 3 of the pet shop dealers i go to well not anymore but when i couldnt find a breeder or were looking for certain ring coodes in pet stores i got at least 6 of my best birds from pet shop 20 bucks each and when i got home with them and found the background history i was pleasently told that the birds were from great blood and would do very well for me i even got tips on what type of bird to pair them to when i culled recently it was mainly birds i brought from breeders that were culed 5 or 6 breeders i know would rather put stock in a pet shop than sell to another breeder when asked why it makes perfict sence i know i will always veiw the pet shop before the breeders as most the time you go to the breeders they say well if i dont sell them their going to the pet shop usually if you wait a few days that very same bird for fiffty i can get for twenty so not all breeders sell **** to pet chains as the birds are just in their way and need to be turned over
  7. im so glad things are going well he was so cute i myself fell in love with him i must say he was more lovable than the smaller birds i tame wanted company more not as indipendant i guess thats as show birds take longer to mature so are usually reliant on mum n dad longer where pets are out and on their own
  8. going to need a clear shot mate but it looks like their almostblack which indicates mauve when chick they shall go purple latter
  9. hi just wondering have you stacked cages just on top of eachother does it work that way i been scarred to do this incase they fell what arethe first cages on byway things sounding good good luck with hatch rate and look forward to picture of chicks growing
  10. i know how it feels to think your going to lose them all but if they are alive after two days of doxy i was told they will make it usually im lucky in end it wasnt that horrable thing i still dont know what caused my birds tio be ill but mate just do exactly what vet asid

okay well i really dont know about showing birds yet and the toll it takes on them mabe a good starting topic ?????anyone
  12. theirs lots to much to tell do not just decide to breed show birds oneday as i did its a big no no i have spent more money than i ever had to reajusting my flights around the show birds instead of having it all preped first dont get me wrong i though i was preperd my flights big enough its covered in its in the right spot all that but once thoughs birds are in you see how much more care they need than pets i suggest you get a breeder to come look at your set up and tell you what will need adjusting as it will need adjusting in one way or another my aviry still is not right its been 6 months now
  13. dave has a great way of putting it i just culled many birds as i was trying to fit parts as to put it and they were all show stock its best to save get two really good pairs then go from their id get 4 pairs myself if you find a breeder who has the look you like talk to them make sure their happy to cull out sttock of resanable quality to you fpor out crosses before buying their birds as other wize you will be trying to build again from ground up i have four bird sorces i do get odd one her and their but they haveto have same features extra

  21. pt do you have any birds in our auction what about you heathrow ???? just wondering im not sure how it works are all breeders allowed to place birds in as long as their passed or what how does it work or is it a secret lol
  22. some nice birds their good luck with it all
  23. hi their crannberry it is possable to breed indoors with the birds if they have been expossed to sunlight but i wouldnt go two rounds just one then let them fly a few more months before the second round sun is important in breeding not just fror the v,b but as it incorrages the birds to mate when the sun comes up if the nest box is on the correct side with the sun entering the breeding box hole ?enterace then the birds start to become active soon as day lite hits if your going to breed indoors place birds where their is sun light from a window it wont give the v,d but it will keep the birds in breeding mode i have no idea as to supliments and other breders use ultra vilot lights to breed under but i belive day light is much better their is lots of diffrent ways to breedand places if your having trouble deciding where to do this mabe post some pics of your options and others can help sujest to you something
  24. it all looks grand dave o
