well i read it finally and must say very very good read thank you both hans and you kaz i dont know if you remember me once telling you kaz that i thought i was alergic to my birds but it wasnt to long ago around time my flock was bit unwell well i will now be looking into this as i have being getting laughed at by fam and doctor by sugesting i was i now will be printing this off and getting a cheak as my condition has been over the 6 months gotten worse i do sneeze around my birds most times im near them i also get my throught close over and feels like ive taken up smoking again of late however i will not give up birds i will just be more cautious to things it wouldnt suprize me if i was allergic as im allergic to alot of things one more wont kill me (i hope) i do not think i have this disorder but it will help to show my family that birds can be a health hazard

I seriously doubt they will change colour. Anyway I wouldnt use it everyday. AND the idea is to use quality fruit juice cordial not the cheap brand with additional food colour. Maybe that explains my "ruddy" complexion (that's got nothing to do with Kevin Rudd by the way). Oh, but hang on, I don't drink raspberry cordial - my birds do. And the only time they look pink is when the get it on them and the type that I use regularly really stains! guess what i been giving red hen layer pellets with everything the budgie pellets got in them same thing thats a dish a day i went back to a seed and give a small hand ful every few days for whole flock much better ps i didnt stop seed just added big plate of pellets which they ravished too much

would they be the what looks like a yf grey and the rec pied and grey green cin cause the way they all are sitting they would be my guess for younger birds but as i said i cant see them do they have white iris rings bar of course the rec pied

i was going to say that thoughs breeding boxes are a dezaster waitingto happen you have been blessed that they have not breed yet first i would put all boxes at same hight all acrossed the top one foot from roof as so they dont get to hot and one to one and a half feet away friom each other on same leavel this way your birds will not fight they will choose a box and stick with it they will sit with out feeling paranoyed that the hen next door wont hassle them and the cocks will be more inclind to stick closser to their own hen and box i can not comment on age of birds as cant see them close but i will say if their are in a collany type set up and not breeding mabe they know themselfs that things ant right for them birds are fussy things need to be how they like it club rung birds are not as premiscuos in the aviry as pets are in collany atmisfear they got pleanty of freash food and water they will with the boxes placed right breed i do know now is not breeding time its almost april time for a moult mabe take boxes out for a bit and replace when birds have done their next moult but replace as i stated you wont get as much tention and better sucsess good luck your birds will breed when right for them at moment boxes must just be another part of the senery

dave the two normal greys the little one seems to have white down is it just the picture or could she be opaline ??? your birds are doing good im having bit bad luck at moment i tryed my old nest boxes one more time( no concaves ) and well ...everything dead in shell although i did crack all dead eggs as i do to see how far they got and found a live chick almost dead and just breathing a albino so fingers crossed she lives i think the massive storm had a hand in it also

it will be again jimmy just need a few breeders to breed them serriously again and actually good quality with clean cut sufuss im going to try some df cobalt and violet opanline golden faces also would be nice to breed some nice sea foam single factors also (should i say sky blue ) im not sure if its a actual class anymore it was once though be nice to get it back

Yes. not life threatening but makes them feel miserable and with your budgie already has started making the beak grow wrong so will affect ability to eat if left untreated. kaz is right it is not expensive mate cost me 20.00 for a bottle that does my birds for ever and all new flegged chicks lasts the year it would only cost five bucks for a bottle to treat say 10 birds

im no compleate expert on golden faces but am going to try breed some when i can get a good one :bump: but this cock looks like a double factor golden face cobalt boy if you breed him to a normal hen you shall get only golden face single factor birds with the all over green efect i say df gf as hes got the definite split of colour give or take a feather here and their i will be corected if im wrong im most sure of that WELL I HOPE I WOULD BE

JUST A QUESTION if you use rasbery codial dayly wont it change the colour of the birds as it does with fish or even humans if you put a fish a white one in food dye or cordiel it will change colour in fewdays to what ever colour you used is this not the same in birs human also can change colour from tomuch of one thing eg the man that turned blue and people that eat too many carrots are yellow colour (true) wont my albinos end up with pink shine (which i dont want ) what brand do others use as i used it for a bit here and their but didnt really know why so i stopped but i used the one i use in my vodka :bump:
