thanks daz this gives me a bit more glimpse of some hope yet ive been very disheartened of late specially with the shields and all and some of the powerful birds that are being selected my babys still look like canarys i know it wont happen over night but its hard to emagine it ever turning around may i ask where the turn around with your birds quality turned was it due to bringing rather extravagant birds if so how many or was it a slow humble progression

I've tried 3 Avian Vets in our surrounding areas - rather a long drive. When I got no satisfaction from them I went to two normal vets...all said they could not find anything. The bottom of his cage is just like runny water. I am now sending the samples to Vetafarm. Cherie to much inregular veriation on food or stress can cause runny water like droppings is something stressing him or her where she is

okay so if im ringing chicks at 5 to 6 days and ring is not coming off this is good thing i was worried my chicks were growing wrong but you were just saying if the chick is rung after eight day and ring does not stay on then you would be like mmmmmm

sorry it just me i know but i dont understand this bit if i cant ring a chick at eight days im very happy and exited does this mean that you ring your chicks by eight days then thats great if longer than that then the chick is not of as good size and quality sorry im just a bit confused wouldnt you be cutt if the leg was to big to get ring on

well as i said my last few clutches i moved a few eggs from each pair under diffrent peronts to insure i goyt at least one chick from all pairings and the birds were all feed same but chicks from nests with larger and more constenly feeding peronts chicks came out larger than the same genetically breed other chicks whos peronts were no feeding as well out come as i said was larger chicks from birds that were feeding better and same genetics but not feed as well birds came out smaller so i think alot is in the both issues not just one even my first breed albino was fostered and came out smaller than his full sisters that were raised by his natural mum n dad so... i belive its to do with how much their feed in nest as well i really cant comment on birds being feed only seed and water as my birds breeding or not get full range of stuff no additives all natural or bar i just started giving pro bows every 3 days a month

yes i belive food plays a part as some my chicks from same birds i swaped around to even the few nests i had and out of all the chicks the ones in the albino clutch came out large the ones in the opaline clutch came out average sized and the spangles clutch was huge also the greys clutch all chicks were decent sized all were feed the same stuff but the opaline hen and cock didnt fill chicks half as much as other birds did so food in my eyes plays big part in nest genetics is also as important five chicks all same nest two fostered to two seperate nests 3 massive along with their other two fosters and two average along with their true born chicks average their other chicks that were fostered to a better feed nest the chicks came out like elephants i hope this makes sence so i think food in nest is more important than genetics as even if genetics their you cant grow to your potential with out being feed proply

i did not mean to afend you and even so if the canvas is that thick (which it does not look in the picture but it is a picture ) although you can see she has sealed it around a painting is only what the buyer or yourself make it worth i know the bags are cheep but again you asked a opinion i gave mine its not just a tote bag its your daughters personal expression and worth more than 2 dollors maybe the bags worth two dollars but in realization your daughters time and effort is worth more as i said 15 dollars even 10 if the cost for making them is only two dollars but im guessing the cost if drycleanable and ironable with out picture cumming off is of any good quality substance then it would have cost more than just the price of the bag unless your printing them on from a computer in which case the ink still costs or the iron on trance fer cost in its self if theirs no point in charging more than two dollars i fail to see why you asked opinion and didnt just say tote bags two dollars each for order :raincloud:

i thought you may not of thought of that most people dont including myself when i was young i tamed my brother a beautiful violet pied i breed for his birthday took me one month to have him fully tame then in the morning i was so exited to give him his bird i opened the curtains and got him out of his cage i called to my little brother to come in and get his gift being only 12 he came bolting in my room scarred the bird and bang smack into the window it was dead instantly i just grabbed it and started crying i was so upset i just passed it to him and said happy birthday you idiot you just killed your present ( i was only 14 myself )then i walked out :raincloud: so....... i guess lace curtains even clear tab tops would be very good idea id hate for you to lose your mate in such a horrible way ps he is still settling in he will take at least a month to settle fully he will talk to you and belive me if he is not chirping much just talk constantly to him tape your voice and let it play over and over with the same few frazez have a total of one minte between frazez and make them short and clear eg giorgio loves you hello mummy you look good today the trick is no more than three frazes at one time and in order of how you want him to say it if you do this he may just suprize you one day and say... hello mummy hes so young the skys your limit

i think your last conclushion was most probbly the case some times a hen or cock die from feeding everyone bar themselfs this in its self is very bad as he will keep feeding chicks and hen and not take in enough for himself ratzy why dont you put him in a cage outside not near your hen but somewhere he can get his weaight back up and rest himself at night just place a tarp or towel over his cage your hen can feed chicks alone and may just well do a better job alone as she will stuff them full to be sure their feed dad really sounds like he needs rest hes been over good and you may just lose him if you do not take advice and let mum feed chicks alone dont need to bring him inside just out of hens ear and cover him at night from chill of crisp air im sure your dad knows stuf also but mate like your bird men try look after family and not themselves your dad may not realize birds can run themselves down as can humans trying to raise a family your bird needs time out seperate him first thing and keep it that way till chicks are fully out nest i would not go a second round for a while or he will lose condition straight up again

not dumb mate just in future you know so you are wiser if shes 9 months you should be lucky just take her aside and let her lay the egg if you feel she is carrying one if your afraid she may have one stuck give a tea spoon full of cod liver or linseed oil to the food dish mix in the bird will eat it the egg should abort itself quiet easily once egg out remove the food dish and wash thurowly then dry and replace with need fresh food no oil added dont give this everyday just for one hole day will be enough egg will come with in 48 hours if not a vet will most probbly be needed or someone who knows what their doing removal of eggs is very bad if you have no clue

im so glad to see he is still very tame he loved to sleep with me on my pillow until i fell asleep then he would fly up to my bed post and sleep their in morn he would come sit with me while i was on the computer im sorry if i made him to reliant on human company i thought thats what you wanted though he will fit into you rotune so long as you make one as thats how i got him where he was when you got him we did the same things at the same times everyday so you need only adjust things to your ways he will learn very quick he is one smart bird your giorgio

he is definitely a boy i would not sell you a female when you waited 6 months for a boy he had a purple cere in nest he is only now this week turning 6 weeks old so you will know he is a boy as if he was a female i would have kept her as he is a good stock bird and you would have a different bird if he was a female i can promise you that i hope you are enjoying him is he still as tame as he was here does he just sit with you still or fly off ???

givin the fact that its abstract in a sense and the fact that these days your costs of paints and canvas is not much specially if acrylic i would say she could only get minimal back for her time and effort how ever if she was to paint them and frame them and then have a small open showing introducing herself to the art world she would be able to put much better well deserved price on them their isnt really alot of depth to the painting bar the budgie having depth in the branches leaves extra would make the painting more visibly interesting and give a more over all desire to want to have the picture hanging on your wall as it is although very good and well detailed to be honest as an artist myself for many years and having sold pictures for over the well excepted price one would expect. you could not ask more than mabe 15 dollors for that painting as the perchus ee would need to frame the work which would cost them more than the peace its self on a more helpful note the tote bag is a much better and easyer way to make a dollor back and have your work viewed and get known you could sell these provided they were sealed properly (as in water proof and fade proof for 20 to 25 dollars and when buying the bags in bulk you could actually bring the price down to around 15 dollars which i would pay for one like that provided it came water proof washable ps im not being critical just trying to give you an idea art isnt easy to sell its something you do as you injoy it then collect it up display it and have for sale at the opening night where 90 percent will be sold with in 3 hours at a price worth your efforts i would get a cope write on her bags also
