  2. well i quiet often helped my pet dude out he knows his birds only he gets pressured i feel sometimes into buying **** with the good ones hes a lovley man and he does listen if i tell him somethings not quiet right i wish i could look at his perchusses before he buys them as i would make sure he didnt get stuck with the crud but well it would be a bit rude to ask if he wanted me to cheak the birds over one by one before he handed over any cash he pays good money and i feel the breeders around here rip him off he does treat birds if he sees their unwell and they are looked after better than when i first came to town a few years ago most owners i fine think they know it all so i just dont bother with pet shops anymore but i still support my pet shop buying supplys and things when i need them all in all i dont think his birds are their long enough to get out of condition or unwell give or take the **** that the breeders sneek in with the nice birds he buys hes just to trusting and gets advantage taken of him at times if this didnt happen id say his birds would be good ive brought from him many times
  3. i think snails are more exiting actually by far lol um i dont know i just think jimmy :hap: by way jim like you if i look i got to post lol as its kind of the only life this games got mmm okay if not jimmy i say kaz again with her witty humor

  5. okay i got some snaps i got one off a addled egg also where you can see the dead embrio inside the shell diffrent clutch just so people can see the diffrents i took one of a feirtile one just starting to vain up but it did not work to well as the camra shut down so i will do that again tomorrow night but got pics of chicks so photo buckett uploading them now okay here are the pics as promised and now the dead in shellit died at about one week of embrio egzistance its just a dark mark with out the light and the whole egg is clear
  6. hay jimmy i think that you may read wrong as the mum is lacewing so all cocks will be split lacewing so the blue boy from last time is split lacewing if this is mum You MAY get some lacewings. The only way to find out wether or not your cocks are split is to breed with them...
  7. yes birds in my flights are named by personality or look as in i got one with long darthvader shaped mask so her name is darth vader although i think i called her dark vader but thats as i dont watch tv and just guessed his name
  8. okay i wontspoil the fun yeah your both right its not like a really smart game this as you can post if you want but dont need to if you dont want kind of defeates the guessing bit  um come on jimmy i know your peaking lol
  9. well if you truley are more prepered and have read everything weaighed it up and decided its still for you than mate you do have my well wishes if this is the case hope you know the first sighns of trouble at hand now and if i was you if you ever hear the eeeee dolfin like eeeee then id be running out to see whos in trouble it may just be the saving of a nest a chick or a good hen also how long since egg bound hen was egg bound as she should have a years rest from that before breeding again or could happen again
  10. thats what i just got 2.50 and very good not to bright just right
  11. okay im not going to apoligize for notwishing you luck as i dont see you being able to watch birds enough and after reading your threads with losses and stuff but i guess i should at least let you know i would always help if i could with advice if things do turn sour as i think i have once before just make sure all boxes are at same height all you place in two boxes per hen all boxes are at least one foot apart that once all birds are paired and have found boxes that all unpaired birds are taken out cocks and hens this goes for and all left over nests are also taken out if you do this you should have success at collany breeding i never collny breed when i begain breeding but i did breed a few pairs in same flight once i didnt have any trouble but i did watch birds everyminit they were near my window and i was home all day everyday i only did it the once as the hens were flighty and unsure of eachother when ever they left the nest its not just the hens who kill chicks the cocks also will kill chicks and eggs and sometimes cock fight will kill another cock two claim both hens so just be very caushes of your set up and make sure theirs plenty of seed fruit and veg dayly and watch your birds closely i didnt mean to come across so harsh just a warrning i gave to a friend was not taken and because of this one of her birds is now parralized and i guess i just figger if people would listen then these things wouldnt happen gb
  12. okay this morning the nest cheak found at a closser inspection that all chicks have dark eyes im not sure if dads split to anything as i have never breed him before so its all a bit exiting forme also their all very healthy and fed well i will get some pics but my cam has really flat batterys and im waiting for it to sit a while then im going to go out turn it on take a really fast snap with the last ounce of power it has left lol i cant get new batterys till thursday so i hope i snap one quick shot i tryed this morn but i was not quick enough it shut off before i snapped i will open nest first next try
  13. wow kaz never seen a bird moult out like that it was worth the pain though lol New feathers have arrived
  14. hi clancy i dont normally say things like this but your only asking for troubble collany breeding if i had five top quality pairs then i would want to give them the top quality safty the deserve to breed and raise their chicks in its not much to get a few cabbinits made up and not hard to hang a nest box on it would even be less expencive than what it will be buying new cocks or hens or vets bills what ever 9HOWEVER I DONT THINK VET WOULD BE IN YOUR VOCABLUARY IF YOU WONT PAY FOR CABNITS I DOUBT YOUR GOING TO PAY FOR A VET breeding birds is not just about cute babys as if your breeding collany then you wont really be able to look after orsave any cute babys that mabe hatch and get eatten by other hens while mums gone for feed or mum may go light AS SHES TO SCARED TO GET OUT BOX TO FEED HERSELF ALL EGGS MAY BECOME ADLLED FOR SAME REASON IF HEN WONT COME OFF HER EGGS TO REST HERSELF EVERY NOW AND AGAIN FOR 3 TO FIVE MINNITS EGGS MAY DIE THEIR IS SO MANY BAD REASONS NOT TO COLLANYBREED i wont be wishing you luck sorry but i will be wishing you come to your sencese and get five breeding cabbnits so you can actually enjoy raising young how its safe for them and their mum and dad and way better for yourself can i just as what makes you choose collany over cabbinets their must be a reason you prefer it

  23. yep got it the four letter bit is why i cant use it lol why cant you type in a word like genetics colour modifying factors and it come up like google i can do google but not her and google sucks to be honest I know some people can't use those function GB, but more often than not, it's members being lazy and expecting us to spoon feed them info (General comment here, not specific) It also doesn't help when we all give members info and they ignore the whole lot anyway! If every question asked here required lists of info to be repeated over and over again, we'd all get sick of the same topics... The FAQ's are brilliant, and the search function is too, simply type in a topic (4 letters or more) and press go. Answering questions once a member has actually made an effort to find the info doesn't bother me, but when I know that they havn't made a single effort, it bothers me... but... again... not specific to any member inparticular...
  24. im afraid being a bit daft i don't totally understand the moving the cock around bit when i say this i mean as a beginner i would not dream to try this as i truly believe you need to have bird room management in tacked first eg know how to foster eggs chicks know how to save new hatched chick from not being feed or just from needing help hatching i feel if you don't know bird management then to try and run your best cocks over your hens is a disaster waiting to happen i don't believe any beginner should try their hand at it until they have success fully raised say a year of chicks and learn how to recognize faults and difficulty's that may arise with two birds rearing a clutch let alone one hen doing all the work still a great thread but i think you need to know what your doing before trying your hand at this One of the best Threads Ive seen here for a while Clearwing, Nice job . I hope all beginners take note as they will save themselves alot of disappointment
