New Classes At Nationals
From my understanding during our discussion, A suffused bird is a poorly marked BES. Out fo our club of 50+ people, plus the toher club in Adelaide, not one person bred suffused. They do have suffused birds, but they don't purposley breed them. There is not set standard for a suffused bird. How can you breed a birds colour to perfection, if there is no explanation of what colour the bird is ment to be? How can they judge a bird on markings? My veiw is that two people could see a suffused and a BES, and breed the two together, thinking they are breeding the same mutation. I agree with you completley GB on the fallow to cinnamon, and TCB's to cinnamon's etc. It is bringing the birds down. This will just add another headache to the other headache's! Also, I think the 16mm perch is going to be changing back? As with the new powder coated cage fronts....OFF TOPIC though Hey, I think suffused are gorgeous Just not for the show bench. The odd one that pops up I sometimes keep for my pet types. A suffused bird is a poorly marked BES. this is incorrect or they would not be called suffused and it wouldn't matter if they were breed to a bes if this was true except you would only chance breeding more badly marked bes's same as with any variety you do not call a badly marked albino with suffusion a suffuse or do you call a badly marked df spangle with suffusion a suffuse (although the turm suffused df spangle does get tossed around alot it is simply a term not a variety) Out fo our club of 50+ people, plus the toher club in Adelaide, not one person bred suffused. They do have suffused birds, but they don't purposley breed them. There is not set standard for a suffused bird. well this may be so from what they say but i bet you you cant be sure thats true as they are useful birds to have and their for a lot breed them deliberately even if not for showing they breed them for enhancing certain lines they are working on How can you breed a birds colour to perfection, if there is no explanation of what colour the bird is ment to be? how much more explanatory does the word suffused need to be ??? How can they judge a bird on markings? they would be judging on the amount of suffusion the bird has allover kaz bird is a good example of a suffused My veiw is that two people could see a suffused and a BES, and breed the two together, thinking they are breeding the same mutation. their is no way you can mix a bes and a suffused if you know what the two variety are and if you dont know anything about the varierty you choose to breed for showing then honestly you have no hope so i am sorry but i feel you just got lost in everyone's words listened and thought its easier to agree than decide yourself if you look into the suffused you will find a beautiful variety that i feel is almost lost in its true essence due to exactly what you have just done you are but how old (this is not a dig ) and if others your age just sat back listened and agreed any age for that matter but what i guess im truing to express is find out for yourself dont just be another follower in the fancy explore this beautiful bird before youscrap it as many have after all if it was not a verierty then it wouldn't exist

New Classes At Nationals
i say bring it on if anything is stupid it was the changing of the cage fronts and perches to 16m as if the costs of maintaining our studs isn't enough now everyone needs to re do all their cages as well that to me is way more anoying and un needed as to be honest they will only chip and the birds will chew it of (the powder coating i mean) and people will be paying sh it loads to get them resprayed thats more a subject that needs revising and should of been put out their for all members of all clubs over Australia to vote on and as far as golden face is concerned i say here here its about time but yes i agree with nubbly 5 hee hee have fun with that standard also can i ask you please squeak what gives you such a bad opinion on a variety thats for starters in the rare association and what makes you think that it will affect the black eyed people are breeding rec pied to dom makeing doms very hard to get with perfict marks also fellow to cinnamon grrrrrrrr as with tex clears and cin and spangle a real head ach and i dont see the diffrents if a beginner does it or a champion breeder does ??? as dont tell me it doesnt happen a good example is a lacewing split clear-body cock you know what ahead ach that is grrrrrrrrrrrrr

First Breeding Journal
im not bothered at all darl and not being harsh just letting you know never remove the parent that has not attacked always the one that does goes, as can stress out the whole clutch your chicks would benefit from the nest box so if you have one put it in their they are still feathering up and need warmth also just you weren't going to breed this hen again so it makes sense to move her not all others i do know you panicked though and understand your reasoning for moving dad and chicks

My Bird Has Broken It's Neck!
well okay but i have to say this most my birds are when found freshly deceased most their heads are floppy but not just flopping the bird i found dead the cock i found died from something i say old age or a bout of e coli or so he had been not looking good that day had runny bum i cleaned it he seemed better picked up so i left him in flight only to find dead in morning the hen i found next day she had been their longer than the cock bird dead she was stiff and her head dropped flopped and was defenantly not normal of a dead birds normal floppy dropped head so i still think she had broken her head my flight they pick up good speed and the new window is a big hazard till they are accustomed to it being opened and closed i say broken neck no matter what this guy says but i do agree most birds die from the shock and head injerys

New Classes At Nationals
i thought they were adding golden face as a trial also in df i think i personally hope they do im not sure about what your saying but i know suffused is meant to be added if no one complains and the violet which heaps wanted as far as devising colours up well it will give more people a chance i guess as some specialize in the one factor only i know quiet a few whom breed light green only and are known for their deep good all over colour all i can say is as splat said they are going to do the three bird thing so i have heard the correct information was in the last budgie news we all got it had a questionnaire in it that they asked you to respond to or forever hold your peace i just tossed it out as i could not understand it but im happy to hold my peace

maddy im so sorry to hear this but i wonder why did you remove dad and bubbys please if its not been more than 12 hours put dad n bubbys back in nest box and remove mum the dad will feed better from the nest and chicks will call for food more than huddled on floor mum should have been taken as soon as the egg was layed and put in a separate resting cage in-till a few weeks rest and supervision to see all eggs layed im really sorry mate for your disheartened feeling

Avalon House -The Fox Stud-Gb8-Show Birds
funny you should ask nubbly as i did try two days ago to up date but after spending quiet some time getting pics and writing things i pressed the wrong button and shut down the sight when i put it back up i had lost everything since i was trying to do it as a out let for all the stuff happening around me i found it rater quiet iritating and decided FU%&^$ K so........ sorry about that but quick update no pics yet as i also left my cam out in a thunderstorm last week :{ yep stupid is as stupid does and im still drying it out it still works but foggy pics i have three cams i just cant use the others as they are to complex for me right now but the lacewing hen ended up with 2 out of 8 fertile eggs alive and feed well shes plucking down off the first one but not the second one so i think she may stop this one is lacewing one it dark eyed and will be Opaline as both mum n dad are the other hen you sent over has 7 eggs two hatched and fed on time one dead in shell and 4 left to hatch she is great mum all chicks will be normal as dad is not split anything and im hoping to get normals and / lacewing cocks :} not bothered how many of each as all chicks will be normal cock or hens cocks will be split to lacewing nothing else :} im really honestly not in the story telling mood but im not abandoning this ship im just taking a bit of time for me i rarely do this and i really need it :{ i also lost a grey/ino cock today my 06 boy rip beautiful boy and thanks for leaving a beautiful very handy hen for me to work with in my stud :} ill really try to find it in me to be bothered to get some pics i have been doing other much needed and some things i just wanted to do of late rather than constantly with my birds got my club show tomorrow 20th march not sure if ill take anything but getting picked up to get out of house regardless if i do take birds ill let you know what and how i went tomorrow night that i promise

Dutch Pieds?
hey well i cant explain a cup to you both sorry as im not good with maths or meshure (or clearly spelling to be honest) but i just use mason jar feeders 3 feeders per cabinet with two with budgie /finch and one with hulled otes and small parrot mix they have a small d cup of red pannicum seeds also the two jar feeds with the budgie/ finch are 700ml woolworth coffee brand jars and they are replaced halfway through the second day ..so a day and a half and they are emptyed the small parrot lasts two days and is a standard masson jar feeding jar comes with the lids and the red panicum seed gets eatten dayly this is average of 4 to 5 chicks per clutch i hope that helps you gauge the amount nececery for healthy stuffed full chicks thats not saying the soft food and seed grasses bread that they also get silver beet /spinach extra

Question About Lutino/slate Pairing.
thank you for that rip next question was my out come for the breeding expectations correct i know you would know definitely @ k&m just you re-posted the exact link i posted with the exact infomation so seemed you did not read any off the other posts people on here have a habit of not reading everything from top to bottom and just answering the first question and skipping everything all others added or say this does my head just sometimes i wonder why i or others bother to try help we either get told we are wrong or the exact thing we say is said by another and our posts just passed by
-
Question About Lutino/slate Pairing.
i really dont think people read other peoples posts properly around this place i wonder why i bother at times
-
Question About Lutino/slate Pairing.
no im 100 percent sure my calculations are correct slate hens and normal / slate /ino cocks why you concerned is their a reason why you should be whats her age her weight and do you feed them with the right diet
-
Question About Lutino/slate Pairing.
im sorry but i beg to differ a slate cock x a lutino hen lets pretend the cock is normal here for a minute okay result and if im wrong i think ill give up breeding albinos now while im ahead normal hens normal cocks / (split ) to lutino okay then with the cock being also sex linked lets say it worked like this grey sf x lacewing hen not split blue you would get 1.0 is cock and o.1 is hen 1.0 grey(sf) green slate x 0.1 ino cinnamon % from all 1.0 50.0% 1.0 grey(sf) green /slate ino-cinnamon 50.0% 1.0 green /slate ino-cinnamon % from all 0.1 50.0% 0.1 grey(sf) green slate 50.0% 0.1 green slate so all chicks are grey green or green cocks being split slate and split lacewing hens being grey green slate and green slate oh dang lol i got lacewings on the brain sorry here is lute slate out come its easy just drop the cinnamon ino make it ino % from all 1.0 50.0% 1.0 grey(sf) green /slate ino 50.0% 1.0 green /slate ino % from all 0.1 50.0% 0.1 grey(sf) green slate 50.0% 0.1 green slate
