  1. its a boy stace hes stated that heaps can you please call it a boy cause if some one finds him and reads this over very quickly they may see your comments refering to him as female and think oh its not the right owner sorry if i sound pedantic
  2. yes but males would be split ino as i stated and the females would be slate their for the cock chicks would be split slate... split ino and the females from these would be ino or slate as both the genes are sex-linked and one would think that being sex-linkage the Alli would be on same position their for both if not they would be / ino and slate giving ino slate hens *** im not sure i even get what im trying to say here lol
  3. yes dave it is as far as i could say its a darkening factor like grey or violet try this so would deepen the yello to a mustard colour and the cocks would all be split ino and the hens would be from them able to be slate ino hens m interesting i must say be good in albino id think http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/rares/slates/slates.html
  4. wasnt sure if beet leaves were okay for budgies but seems they are dave :} also i noticed she was a dom pied first picture you posted maybe id say masking sky blue also i do breed albbys so get use to looking close at them shes got the suffusion lime green so why i say sky blue cinnamon sky blues go pink/ suffusion violet goes pink /brown suffushion cobalt normally masks well as does grey so .... she has a nice pied band too
  5. okay i didnt go back and look at what i first said but here is my say grey normal hen x opaline dk grn /clearbody /cinnamon cock grey normal /unknown x grey cinnamon hen spangle cinnamon hen x blue opaline cock df yellow spangle x cobalt hen violet spangle and cobalt opaline hen and rec-pied id use for pet breeding and colour variety only sorry the reason i changed the cinn sp hen x df yellow sp was due to they are both rather cut off from bum no follow through and i think the head feather on the cobalt as in direction is good for him she seems to be needing a bit more wighth that he has andbeing related to the cobalt cock if you pair the two with the pairings ive said then regardless of out come you can then pair the cin hen with the ydf next time and will have half related chicks on his side to pair in future with his impact as he looks like hes been breed well so would be resonalbly pre-potant as does she adding the two blues should give that tad length to both birds chicks and the direction will be on its way if not fixed enough to keep young and then re imprint the direction at latter time that they can be breed i dont see any show quality in the others i left out but then who am i im just another beginner so dont really know that much but they are in my eyes colour injectors only
  6. put peace of blue paper in show cage first then sticky tape it wont glare back then
  7. she looks to be masking dom pied two :}
  8. i only said what i would pair to try bring out any show quality's that my be their some your hens are very handy but its hard to say when they are not even looking at you lol the cocks however i feel your ydf spangle your yf cobalt that's got the chicks and the Opaline dark green are your handiest birds regarding feather and look any chance you can lend a show cage from a breeder and get snaps of them each better as its hard to really tell your birds could be supper but just look average due to not in show cage show birds is all about the show cage you can have a supper bird but if he or she does not show well then you have nothing as it does pass on down in the generations and best to use the ones who show and put the rest aside unless they have constant outstanding features in the flight my thoughts if you can always veiw your prospect birds in a show cage before buying
  9. okay my bad i just fingered if they are ex-capped and breed their fore making a flock they were then classed as wild which has happened over their also they are but only green so have already reverted back to wild type
  10. a plate how did the plate one work like how did you make that ???
  11. " Wild" budgies are only in Australia. Pops doesnt come from Australia Stace. thats not actually true kaz in Canada their is wild budgies how ?? i guess same as how we got indian minners
  12. im having mouse issues in the house but not in my flights their mouse proof as however im going batty all i can smell everywhere i go is mouse **** n poo the gararge the hallway the back portch everywhere my kids rooms for god sake i woke to chewing and stupid things ate hole in the cubboard to my clean linnen its not the seed bringing them as they dont want that and my seed in bins i dont know what to do or what they want but dad n i are going to war i called him said that's it enough so good luck mate im putting my baits in my cabinets all over yard and in shed on tables extra and im locking them so no animals can get in to it marlee is inside my dog never out of my sight and doesnt eat them anyways and good luck if a cat comes here and eats them may stop my cat issues too barsteds eatting all my breeding ginni pigs right out from under my nose too lucky i have not got them or they would be flying over the fence off my boot
  13. they are a flock bird but i dont see a issue if shes free and decided your home is a good home id just leave things how is in the wild females go find a nest then the males look for them after a month or two not the same as captive breed birds i will admit though if away from flock may be hard to find still if shes happy leave it i say
  14. lol i didnt even see you had chosen the grey x grey cin hen lol see shows you how much i took notice ,,.... not :{ i did but i forgot when i was looking them over what made you think putting nimbus with the violet spangle may i ask because ill tell you something being asked question helps us learn more as both party's gets to express their reasons and it can be discussed much more thorough and a better understanding of it all reached looking at the pied cock is he maybe just from nest does he have barring ??? looks young if so give him time
  15. okay here is my suggestion and that's all it is grey cinnamon spangle hen ...nimbus x ydf spangle cock grey normal cock...gandalf x grey cinnamon hen will find out id hes split cinnamon and or opaline in one breeding and he will help her wings and both got good frontal push above cere opaline dark green/clear-body /cinnamon x normal cobalt... the sister to the normal cobalt cock grey normal hen x cobalt normal again the lifting of the wings and she has better feather than him violet spangle and opaline cobalt as the rec pied is in my opinion not worth breeding for show quality you will just go backwards from the start and last but not least i wouldn't breed the rec hen as to much feather issues and sits weird and hunched but in saying all this thats me
  16. caustic soda works in milk but kills everything so you need to be very very careful where you put the jar lids :} (did i say that no this is not really a post you imagine it is here but its not gb would never feed poor little mice caustic soda that's just cruel )

  19. your hen needs more food each chick needs a cup of seed a day thats a cup of seed per chick my jar feeders empty daily when chicks are hatched and around week on wards i also supliment and some hens still have dificultys keeping crop food up all day so ask yourself this are your supplying at least a cup of seed per chick are you supplying soft protein eg the boiled egg n weetbix with grated egg or even a bit of whole grain bread if no time for that and fresh veg or seedling grasses daliy if the answer to one of them is no then id change that :}

  25. I did not know they go Barren for a few months out of the year - very interesting is there any average time of the year they do it? or just random for the Area they live in ? every cock bird is different theirs no real time they do it but it is fact many a good cock bird has been tried then retried then moved on in belief hes infertile i have a few myself that were so called infertile cocks also if you have a cock bird that does not fill yet his cere is reasonably blue and he seems in good condition to breed placing a few chicks in place of the infertile eggs obviously when they would of been due and new born-snot week olds will most of the time kick start his fertility by time hes finished feeding his foster children he should be right to fill his own next round feeding the young stimulates thecock into breeding condition again most times
