yes ren i also believe if your off balance their are small gifts or incentives received through the universe when your going in the right direction to show your getting back on the right path im a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and we meet different people for different reasons at different stages of our life sometimes as we need to learn from them other times as we are their to teach them usually both times we do not know until after the fact were we can sit back and look at whats gone on if im lost i ask the universe for a specific sign to show me if im moving toward the right choice in life usually a certain type of feather i also use feathers to keep a record of my emotion through out the weeks im not feeling good i simply just pick up a feather that represents my amount of peaice or anoyance for that day and i string them all on a cotten thread usually magie feathers or crow mud lark and cocky as their black and white and depending on if it was in morning or night my mood was hazed depends on where the white tip on feather is or at all sometimes i have white and other thimes black grey shows im balanced well it work for me as a tool to keep my self an eye on my mental health having bypola is hard and as the medications dont sit with me well (as in they affect me badly not i dont want to take )this way i have an on going day to day emotion meter and a pretty cool dream catcher 3 fold ,its real so it pays to be polite kind and helpful giving just a all round beautiful person actually i also believe we manifest our fears by fearing them in the first place and you should only keep company because you enjoy it, not because its the only company u can find i dont keep many friends but its as i can not find anyone whom i enjoy being around or talking to no other reason most people like my company its just im not a needy person and dont need theirs back so spend most my days in garden or with birds when ever i hear someone needs help i will even if im not in a situation where im very well off myself as i know that i will get by as i know the universe will look after me even more so if i do give my last 50 to a total strange and dont expect it back i have faith that i will always fall on my feet not my head

Ratzy's Breeding Journal
Hi Ratsy, Great picture of Marigold, I wouldn't go worrying about adding nesting stuff now, If she starts getting stressed she'll go kicking her eggs around and you'll end up with addled eggs and no chicks at the end. Mine kicked all nesting stuff out every time I put it in. UNTIL CHICKS HATCHED. Then she didn't worry about it.After they started to hatch, you could gently put in some, wood shavings, rolled oats etc. (only $1 or No Name quick or rolled oats) etc. enough so the nest box isn't slippery for the chicks to get a hold on. Marigold will keep her eggs turned and tucked in under her until then. She looks like she's "on the job" and mother knows best. Great job so far!! i agree with this

My New Budgie~
im sorry i wont try from a picture but i will say i hope your not planing to breed him with the bird no one can agree on if its a yellow face or not as you will never know if she is or not ever if you do as although some people believe you get all yf chicks from yf to yf and any white face chicks are doublefactor yellowface this is false info and the white face chick may not be df yellow face but simply just what it is a white faced chick so... bare that in mind
-
Alfalfa light green or olive green?
it is the same as yellowface 2 also called Australian yellowface It's NOT the same as YF2 it is a seperate mutation called Golden Face or Australian Yellow Face. See here http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=27620 yes it is defenently not astralian golden face baby or do i think it is yf2 i belive its just a cin and its split to blue if its olive that would exp;lain the blue mauve type colour over chest but a yf or a golden face as nub said would still be completly blue mauve what ever its not its only green based in my opinion and i really do think your all wrong normally im the one saying its possibly yf but no not this bird sorry if it ends up breeding yf chicks to a normal white faced cock with absolutely no yf breeding in its history then i will eat my shirt

How Important Are Breeding Records
well i had majority of my birds on it then it did something to my com and then i lost it all im to afraid to put it back i tryed the free wicca sight bird program that was harder than the budgie one so.... i tryed a diffrent book for every cock and then just listed its partner the pairing date eggs filled eggs layed hatched ectra chicks keeped sold all that but i have 95 books all up as i tryed to keep one for each hen also but was just doubling up on stuff so... i will work something out that fits my brain patten for now im just using visual memories more than anything for some reason i can remember my birds breeding background but nothing else but i do have to work someting out soon before i go full in to swing of things
-
Eye Infection
im not sugesting you do slice it off if their is a hole in her head then thats really weird but i know you will consolt vet and go from their me i tend to fix anything the vet says is no hope by my far out antics but i only do when im defenent its life or death she seems happy bar the blister thing u sure its not a bite from something

How Important Are Breeding Records
call me simple but for the life of me i could not get that budgie program to work id put birds in family the lot but i couldnt work out how to do anything ellse way to complex for my brain so here is a small example of what i do for pets and thinking of doing something sim for show birds Ring number; Breeder; Phone; Address; State; hatch month : Left nest : Mutation: Colour ~ GRANDPERONTS : MOTHERS SIDE: COLOUR: COMMENTS: MUTATION: YEAR: FATHERS SIDE: COLOUR: COMMENTS: MUTATION: YEAR: MOTHER: COLOUR: COMMENTS: MUTATION: YEAR: FATHER: COLOUR: COMMENTS: MUTATION: YEAR: CLUTCH BUDDIES: COMMENTS: this is just a small example of what i kind of do its got picture of bird and as much comments or background as i can if theirs a bird with more history i just staple its papers to the sheet i made for it each birds then filed on com this way and in a folder when i breed bird it has a seperate paper for chicks breed and info on what year cluch and ext wooks for my brain
-
Eye Infection
im a lot more just do it i guess it isnt easy sometimes but i have done some prettyweird and yuk things to save birds and they have savived against all odds and would of died if i had not my next move after vet would be to slice the blister clear off then wash it with the same thing i said but has to be diluted remember but thats me vets better option

A Bad Petshop.
kaz is right sex has no real structure on what a baby bird will learn infact my friends aviry its mainly here hens who com sit on her for companionship the cocks come once the girls fly down to her my friend when i was young i gave her one my birds she tamed it from 6 weeks old it could write a dictionary i think it said that much they kept it in the main area where everyone conversed and lots was repeated to it by all that walked passed it did not become nasty however i do know some hens are head strong but cocks can be also not all my chicks make it to tame pets i asses their personality at two weeks sometimes sooner if they show inquisitive behavior i then strt to handle them more than the others both males and females talk and make loving pets

My New Budgie~

Eye Infection
cool that should dry out the infected area and kill the backteria so... when it closes again the liquard should stay dryed up if not then it would be vets for me or id just keep redoing what i told you till the wound dryed up not much the vet can do for that kind of thing really hope shes better a tad

How Important Are Breeding Records
I think you would be aware too Renee that one of the top breeders over here, a Nationals breeder, ( who shall remain nameless ) has admitted on more than one occasion that he also shifts chicks about so much that he also loses track. Its the shIfting about so quickly with no written record and losing track that causes future surprises and missing splits not recorded to assist moving forward in breeding and this hobby. It wastes a lot of time and birds. tell me about it kaz having some very unexpected times of loftiness i shell call it i have somehow lost track of some very good birds genetic heritage this means for me 1 that not only do i need to pair my birds once to find out what they may be split for if cocks (but ) two... being an albino and lacewing breeder ...well trying to enter into it ,it means i need to have free a normal hen that is grey so that the pairing to find out if their albino or lacewing split is at least worth the time also im just luck i have only breed one breeding session before this one and managed to ring and write down breefly where first 3 chicks from nests are and i put some very different mutations down at once ive only ever gotten chick mixed once before this and it was due to same reason i decided to solve this problem for me as its not to do with book keeping more so than health issues which can come quiet unexpectedly to only breed as splat said a handful of birds at a time and to do maybe all pairings that will have visual differences in case this ever happens again i have lost track of two nests heritages however i do know what the colour and mutation expectations should be as i paired for both their for it will be not to hard to work out luckly as i have breeding papers of one cock i know he is not split to anything and as both peronts were opaline all his chicks need to be opaline and the only way i can get it wrong is if i get a dark green hen opaline as the other cock is split to opaline so...im crossing fingers im just lucky im not into my plan yet just trying to breed some good stock hens really i chose books over com but i have millions everywhere and need to find a structured plan of atack lol before i get to serious for now im still playing around with pairings but records are to me a must i even keep them for my pets

G & G Breeding Season
Well I think I've got what you are asking here...... If you are asking how I seperate birds into different flights........ I have 6 flights (actually 7 as one full length flight is divided into 2. They are 1.5m x 6m in length so I have big flights and 2 half sized ones. One half sized one is usually empty but gets used to house a show team when I am prepping them for the Nats. The other small flight is a baby flight. They go in there after the nappy cage and then once they start to moult they go into a full sized flight. I house babies together cocks and hens so that they learn budgie communication between sexes ettiquette. Once I do my yearly cull just before the next breeding season, they get seperated into cocks and hens and housed in seperate flights to prevent any surprises when pairing. BUT since starting with clearwings and BES I have ended up housing both cocks and hens of those varieties together as they and their splits look really crappy in amoungst the other birds AND I was running out of space! So currently - show team flight is empty, baby flight full, 2x blue ringer young bird flights full, 1x hens flight (normals, fallows and splits, lacewings) full, cock flight (normals, fallow, lacewings and splits) full, 1x clearwings, bes and splits (both cocks and hens) full. I don't think I have a real system and this changes a bit once I do a cull. I think this year I'm going to have to cull sooner than normal as the breeding season has been great and I have soooooo many blue ringer babies. Looking at quitting a variety maybe too........... wow thats fantastic nubbly what a fantastic set up

Culls and Helping the Purchaser
well ren i was not going to mention why or what happened as that was between us you came to the decision to help me out and that was big of you i was very overwelmed that you did as it was not in your hands anymore the birds were payed for and sent and yes i know you have learnt from that experiace but you all so payed for it litrally so...i hold no grudge on that or do i think you relized the deprament to doing that would cause the bird all that matters is you learnt i learnt the vet got payed by us both the birds alive and doing well i do not dislike anyone and even when tention hits i forsee over it and never hold a dislike specially when someone takes the effort to apoligize as it takes alot to do so specially if youve just given a mouthful or two bossy yes ... out spoken just as much as me ...i love ya kind of main thing is if something was to happen and i needed help your the type that would put your self their so ...thats you and the rest of the grains need blowing away to see your softer lining but it is their oh and honesty lol pmsl that you and me why i guess we bump at times :hap:

Culls and Helping the Purchaser
Once I cement the look I know they are carrying, and I reckon it will take a couple of generations, at this point they are slated to go back to my Dommie Pied line and the very best will go into one of my specialist varieties, like my Greywings, that is if I persevere with the latter. so are you saying your going to put rec pied to dom pied thats only something you do with pet type breeding or do you mean any normal chicks produced from these birds will be used in your dom line i must say ren has gifted me a very nice in my eyes rec pied boy he is fantastic in the fact that he is quiet broad so i do belive her birds will fill out (her pieds ) he is not her best hence why he was culled on but he is carrying a long mask and has produced some large chicks and i stand by what i said that rec hen is lovely and i think she willbe very useful to you and although some the other birds i got were culled out of my show plans they are still here with me as i see nice feather in a few of them they were culled out of my plan ren due to lack of shoulder and stance but other than that my grey boys getting better in the head so mabe they do bloom late as he is 08 and only just looking like i may use him in my albino with one of my own breed hens ren im not sorry for what ive said but im glad you are now being nice to splat and kaz i do think you have some nice birds but i still think you dont seem to have a very organized plan but really in the long run as long as you enjoy what your doing and have fun with it i suppose it does not matter if you keep paperwork or not or give it out if your not willing to help others to the fullest of your personality then well thats your choice everyone has bad experiences with people specially when dealing with birds i just hope you can chalk what ever made your buttons press as one thoughs experiances i have been shitty and anoyed with the whole world of late so i just was very anoyed to see you reacting and responding the way you did in this post we are not the best of friends and we quiet often bump with our awnsers on this forum or just our remarks but i know all in all you mean well and if push came to shove you would help out as you did with the violet hen you gifted me ...no money passed hands in the end i basically wound up with 8 of your birds for free as you took a certain profetional veiw and if it was not for that your bird would not of had all the vet assistance that she did (well she would have but i would have been and my children going with out for a month or so ) so you are a good person you do help when in respect to you birds and i guess i just wondered where all your anger was stemming from i know if someone was to ask you for info on a bird you would be accommodating if you knew and i mabe that has changed but i hope not look forward to some clear shots its not hard to start keeping a short recorld they dont need to be pages long even just a list of chicks breed mutation and a ring under the main stud bird is better than wondering i do that when lazy then when bored i do it properly

Culls and Helping the Purchaser
Besides I have come to terms with the uncertainty of the sex linked genes and how fricken impossible prior to actual breeding to know whether your cock is split or not.... man now i know your just guessing with your pairs all your birds must be fry in the pan chicks that actually get you anywhere you have been breeding for how long again ..m i thought so ren you make me wonder why you even breed birds i know for fact not all breeders keep papers but i do know that if you asked them where so and so came from they could spil out at least 7 generations and point out fam members you cant even seem to tell me what one cock is split to or masking so far i have wasted almost one whole breeding session working this out myself with test breeding's sex linkage birds are so the easiest to work out all you need to know is what mum and dad were that simple its the rececive genes that come through unexpectedly i think you will find if you keep some papers ren that you would be better off as you would actually be able to make good use of the aov birds and the splits i think your being a fool and when you come back and read this post i hope you relive you have actually burnt a lot of people with your abrupt words whom care and help follow your advice ect and i hope you you can see it and privetly apoligize and im not talking about me youve always made it your right to put me down and dis me i honestly dont care cause i know i do and will always know better than you nomatter how long i have actualy breed show birds for swhit i even can tell you history on my pet types everybird breed desirves to be recorded what they are carrying ectra this post is soooooooo wow kaz that was a lovely extract from bible as splat said i was taught do on to others as the do on to u however i just urn away from
