  1. Chances are you would be feeling REALLY revolting if it was psitticosis, when I had it I couldn't get out of bed for a week. I have been crook most of this winter too, there is something nasty doing the rounds.
  2. No, but I have more willpower than AV so as long as she is only spending her own money that's fine
  3. Good on you Denise, organise a boycott
  4. I used to help out with plays put on by the scouts, they were done at a theatre which had to be hired, lighting equipment had to be hired and some people had to be paid for things that couldn't be done 'in house' and yet that is still more expensive than what we used to charge. Sounds like the school is just out fo a buck to me
  5. Temp is a little high if you ask me, don't rely on the thremostat on the heater either. Put a thermometer in the tank and adjust the heater based on that. I would set it at about 24 degrees, at 26 degrees it will encourage disease.
  6. Sounds like a shopping trip then, I'm in I'll have my new car and I'll put the roof racks on just incase
  7. Which tank had problems(what fish were in it and what temp?) even a couple of degrees can cause problems and the temp can take a few days to settle with a new heater, hate to say it chick but you probably should have waited a little longer before getting super excited and getting your fishies
  8. Actually Kaz I think the bar sides will be used to make a nice fence to put across the bak door of the garage to stop the dogs going in there  I've managed to get it to stay together fine for the moment but I'm not happy with it as a permanen bedding solution so I'll still be going to Ikea for a new one- ONLY a cot though AV
  9. My youngest is just at that cusp of moving into a big boy bed so I decided to rearrange the sleeping situation and add a single bed to the equation, while still having the cot available while he is transitioning. In order to move the cot I ad to take it apart as it doesn't quite fit through the door but as I was doing so I broke it  It's a great cot which converts into a toddler bed and what is worse is we will still need a cot as we have decided to have a third baby next year :grrr: So I have decided that even though I could probably get by without the cot I am going to get another one anyway as we will stll use it next year so Ikea trip on the cards for over the weekend It's kind of a fun excuse for baby shopping even though I'm not having a baby for a while
  10. It's a little too early to be having problems due to build up of toxins, that normally happens at the two-three week mark. What pH were you told to keep the tank at?
  11. Check this out: link and incase it doesn't work: 320291457054
  12. If a seller is a dealer and sells in buk then the listing can be done using a template which is set to post every couple of weeks. I think what the seller was saying to you Kaz is that the listings will update as they cycle into the new fortnight. So it may take a couple of weeks before listings start showing up with the new wording.
  13. Many wormers are the same (for example I use bird wormer for small furry animals like rodents), the main thing is to find out the ingredients and the concentration. If you can find out which one they are recommending and what it's ingredients are we might be able to advise whether it is suitable.
  14. I have a budgie which broke all his tail feathers close to the base. In order to encourage them to regrow we plucked the bases out and he now has a tail which is a bunch of feather 'tubes'. They do take a while to open out and I think they can be a little fragile during that time.
  15. Ivan's! I had been planning on starting to do my shopping there too :hap: I will head over there this week sometime, maybe on Friday for a sticky.
  16. I understand your hesitation at dashing off to the vet at every sniffle, I too can't afford it. I keep a bit of money aside for emergencies or when I really believe I can't solve a situation myself. I used to work as a vet nurse with a small animal vet so alot of basic stuff I can treat myself but I also recognise that I can't fix everything. If you have come to the conclusion that you can't solve the situation and you don't know what the problem is then it is time to consult a vet.
  17. Our photos were done by a good friend of ours who is an amazing photographer. He is also studying at uni and did say it might take him a couple of weeks to make edits and get the final ones to us as he has a couple of assignments due. Since he did it as a favour to us I told him to take his time. I'm sure we'll get them soon.
  18. There is a simple answer to that, you will get them when I get them
  19. I'd love to but unfortunately I probably won't have the time for diversion, I'm going to a 'ball'
  20. Hey all, In a couple of weeks I'm heading up the Hume from Melbourne, over the mountains and down into Nowra then back again a couple of days later. Just wondering if anyone lives along the way that has show budgies for sale?
  21. My guess would be hen but I would normally wait about another week before I can tell for sure. It has the pale colour of a hen but the evenness of colour of a cock. Another few days and you should be able to tell...be patient
  22. Hey AV which pet shop is this? I have been thinking about getting my empty tank going again so they sound like as good a place as any for supplies.
  23. Check her teeth as a guinea pig with overgrown teeth will exhibit that sort of behaviour. If you are able to get her to eat softer foods like apple and cucumber then my suggestion would be a sore tooth, an overgrown tooth or a mouth ulcer, ulcers can be quite common in guinea pigs that eat a diet based alot on one of the guinea pig 'mueslis' rather than pellets as the seeds can stick into thier gums. I agree that she needs to see a vet, this isn't something you can fix on your own. Guinea Pigs don't have 'off days', they are busy little critters so the way you are describing her is very concerning.
  24. If your adults are all wormed and you are keeping the babies there is no reason you can't just wait and do them whenever your adults are due again as long as they are older than about six weeks when they get the first dose, however if I am selling the babies then they get wormed before they go to their new homes.
