  1. Might be a bit far from Adelaide Jess :bump:
  2. Sorry I'm not help, just wanted to wish you good luck. Oh and speaking of pee I nearly wet myself laughing at your siggy
  3. Hills is right AV, Adelaide is a long way to move how about I adopt you instead
  4. My mum still addresses gists from Santa too Last year my parents had the family chrissy at their place, my dad dressed up as santa (mainly for my kids) and the whole family had to sit on his knee to get their pressies includng his elderly mum and dad(nana and pa to me) Alex wasn't fooled though, he took one look at him and turned to me and said "Hey mum it's santa grandpa", he's a smart cookie my boy
  5. No, no, no. What you have to do is breed them so that by the time I arrive they will have tripled in number  Or maybe in your case quadrupled since you seem to have wonder birds
  6. Unfortunately I had to make the choice between roadtripping and buying a house a few months earlier, so the house won. We are hoping though that we might be able to do it at another stage once we have our house in our hot little hands
  7. Well there isn't a trading table at the meeting, you order an item, thn they send the order in, then you wait for the BCV to process it and send it to the secretary, then you have to get it off the secretary  I have looked at making the stones but to be honest I really can't be stuffed
  8. Things like mineral blocks and other supplements that ony come in smaller boxes. Just as an exampe one of the bokes at our club was showing us a product which comes in a 600g box but he buys a box of 24 at a time, of course I'll ask him about that one but that's just an example. My birds will tear apart a small mineral stone in a few weeks in a breeding cage so it woud be great if I coud buy 20 or 30 at a time. Im pretty sure our club just uses the Budgi Club of Vic trading table and the turnaround on products can be a bit slow so it would be nice to be able to just order things myself.
  9. They do require slightly more maintenance but a basic seahorse set up isn't too hard, it really depends how complicated you want to make it. Many aquariums sell complete set ups to suit seahorses
  10. I did a few years ago but I didn't have a very good spot for it and had a lot of trouble with algae (too much sunlight in the only spot I had available for it at the time) so I packed it up and moved it to the aquarium shop I was working at at the time.
  11. It has recently become apparent to me that it would be in my best interests to try and buy some of my supplements in box lots to cut down costs. Wondering if anyone does this and which supplier they use or how you find a supplier?
  12. You wouldn't be the first JB :laughter: I used to do regular cleanng/maintenance on a few peoples tanks too
  13. Well I'm still feeling pretty uninspired about christmas as far as gifts go. The boys have their wheelbarrow each but other than that I have no idea. I was thinking maybe a large planter each(maybe with their name painted on the front), some potting mix and some seedlings and a set of garden tools each?? Or is that a really boring present for two little boys? The thing is they have more toys than they know what to do with and books coming out their ears so they really don't need any of that sort of stuff and they do like helping me in the garden.
  14. The S I think :laughter:
  15. That was why I was asking about length, I know a really good one but it's loger so don't know if it's suitable
  16. I'm a sucker for Dr Suess quotes "Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you." Here are some more: http://quotations.about.com/od/bookquotes/a/seuss1.htm
  17. I agree with Liv, I presume that once they are finished breeding you'll be taking the nest boxes out otherwise where will the babies go?
  18. How long does the quote need to be?
  19. Oh Heck, I suppose I'd better do that
  20. All I want is The new house I've been dreaming of for years. Not long now I hope
  21. My budgies were pleased to see me home yesteray as I came bearing a budgie bouquet It didn't take long or them to check it out.
  22. You can shine a little led torch through them to check if they are fertile, I use the light on my camera phone
  23. I'm cool I have a uni degree with a major in freshwater ecology and also worked in the aquarium industry for many years It has had water in it for nearly two months and the plants were added about three weeks ago, the fish are at a low density at the moment and are also only juvenile so as they grow the tank will work up to it's full capacity gradually Here are some update pics now that the final addition of fish has been done(two of them were added about a week ago). Sorry they aren't great pics but these little guys are so fast it's hard to get a decent photo of them.
