Fridge And Washing Machine
My only advice is to take a two litre milk botte with you and make sure it fits in the door of the fridge with plenty of space. The newer fridges all have plastic door shelves and ours has cracked because the two litre bottle fitted but it was a tight fit and put pressure on the shelf front. Also if you look at other fridges steer clear of any that have the cheper plastic shelves as they crack very quickly. The washing machine looks good, whatever you do don't let the sales assistant try and sell you one of the washer/dryer combos, a friend of ours has had nothng but trouble with theirs.

Funny Shaped Eggs!
I get some that are pointier than others, never caused a problem but it probably depends how pointy they are

Aviary Needed
I t won't matter if it hangs over the sides a tiny bit as long as it isn't over too far, did she give you the dimensions??

Budgies And Heaters?
Yeah it's basically the portable version of what I was thinking, the gas heats up the grill behind and turns it red. That's nothing to worry about. Don't have it on while your budgie is out though as they get very hot and you wouldn't want a nasty accident.

Budgies And Heaters?
I know what you mean, it's one of those short firplace type old gas heaters yeah. That's fine

Budgies And Heaters?
Also make sure your heater has a blue flame not a red/orange flame. Red/orange is bad for anyone in the room

Critique My Wing Clip
One of the sites up above shows a clip where the feathers are clipped carefully almost at the base. I'm going to do it that way next time as it looks better and sounds like it is less uncormfortable for the bird. I think it's the sort of thing you do only if you are confident though

Aviary Needed
Yeah but those patio cages are a total pain in the ****! An aviary is basically four walls screwed together with a roof screwed on top, really easy

Aviary Needed
ARe you getting a slab layed or just putting it one pavers or dirt? You should be able to put the kit ones together on you own with a couple of friends

Aviary Needed
okay how do you define nice There is a guy in Lancefield on ebay who makes them for $600-800 but I'm not sure whether they dismantle .... I just checked his pages and he will make it in kit form for an extra $60. Check out his other items too http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ARCH-bird-AVIARY-ca...1QQcmdZViewItem

Aviary Needed
You don't need a huge aviary to house 20 birds. You can get them at place like bunnings sometimes. There was that nice red hexagonal one on ebay, that would be big enough for youCheck out this one http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Great-Bird-Aviary_W...1QQcmdZViewItem

Well I Am Officially A Wildlife Foster, So Much For Going Slow!
Well I had planned to go slow but just by coincidence I met a local wildlife carer today and we just clicked Despite her saying initially that she wasn't going to take on any more mentees as she is getting on a bit and it is too much hard work, after chatting for about half an hour she changed her mind and offered to be my mentor. So she is getting the forms sorted and very soon I will be an official wildlife foster and she is going to start me off with any baby possums she gets But first I need supplies!! I need to get another aviary or two at some stage, but more urgently I need heat pads, infant animal milk powder(she uses biolact), bottles and teats, pouches (I'll make these myself) and I need to get my other half to finally convert the wooden reptile enclosure into a brooder for me. Anyone have some connections that might be able to get any of these at a good price for me? I'm happy to take vet's second hand heat pads cheap, etc

Breeding And Out Comes?
I worked as a vet nurse and I have no doubt it is deaf. Although they could possibly be more prone to eye damage due to the paleness of their eyes, so maybe that's what they were saying??

Breeding And Out Comes?
not blind , deaf

The Challenge
Tough to find, you might have to look overseas. I found his other one ' Best in Show' for $60 in Aus.

Breeding And Out Comes?
Certain genes will result in more than one thing. For example a white cat which also has blue eyes (not sure how connected those two are but it's the only one I could think of ) Basically what Norm means is that because he has the black toenails he could be carrying some other mutation which is hidden due to the colour of the bird and the only visible evidence is those toenails. When you bred him with the right female(whatever that is) the hidden mutation may be seen in the chicks potentially. Hope that helps.

Can You Guys Confirm My Predictions For Me
I am saying I don't know We had two eggs that hatched. They didn't help though because we needed to get a female to see if she got the opaline and both the chicks are cocks, always the way I am going to let them go for a second clutch so we'll see if they have a hen next time.

Take The Budgie Quiz
I got 9/10 I got the one about aggresion wrong, bit strange if you ask me as there are many species which I would say are much more aggresive than budgies, I get the odd bit of bickering from mine but I wouldn't call it active aggresion most of the time.

Couldn't Help But Laugh
These two are both boys so hopefully it's a sign of things to come. One is the little guy that rough preens but hopefully he'll grow out of that
