  1. If you check out the showbiz link on that page you will see that he takes out just about every class at each show... Something tells me he's a good breeder. I do like the definition of the ideal bird on his page... "Balance, Power and Elegance" and "Composed, Dynamic and Refined" I think they give a good description of what a show bird should be... Dean what are the standards in NZ like compared to Australia and the rest of the world?
  2. Daz do you have a picture... I was considering building one like that but couldn't figure out the best way to attach the cage fronts... (I am not a very handy handyman)
  3. you've done extremely well to get that shot. everytime my birds do something like that they are moving they're head to much to get a good snap... great job.

It took me ages to figuer out how to do that too.
  5. The first thing my vet said to me wen I went the first time was, "We need to get your bird onto a pelleted diet." I dunno why but I guess thats what they get told at vet school... maybe one of our resident vets will know...
  6. then I'm wrong there is to much white in that cere to be a bloke...

  8. Jen114 when you understand the yellowface/goldenface genetics let me know... From what I have read there are a few different thoughts on the subject, and all in all I get extremely confused with the whole thing...

  17. okay I'm very poor with genetics but wouldn't more genetics be better in the long run Liv? When did they ban the importation of Budgies? For all interested the details for the Y.B. Shield heath was talking about are: Y.B. SHIELD Sunday, May 17th 2009 Northland Secondary College, 62 Murray Road, EAST PRESTON
  18. I really have no idea... I am going to say cock. P.S. Love the egg tooth :mallet:
  19. I'd never even seen a budgie from Canada before that Dean... thanks for the link :mallet:
  20. wow that would be amazing if you could tell at egg stage what you were going to have... Did you ask the breeder what their accuracy rate was?
  21. thats what I was thinking... but I wasn't sure if I was reading it wrong... and by the title '10 days early' I am guessing it has been over 10 days since those chicks hatched so thats 28 days incubation... can't see them hatching now...
  22. ...sometimes I have brain drains... I'm noticing that they are becoming the norm... time to do some brain excersizes I think.
  23. Glad to hear you will try to be on more often the pie :mallet: It is always good to see the older forum members get on and put their two cents worth in
  24. Thats an interesting point you make Daz. I think its a shame that some varieties have been lost. I guess that the possibility to see them again is still there but very minimal... :mallet:
  25. I might try sprinkling oat on top of the vegies when I give them to him then :mallet: the art of persuasion
