Runt is very special, he was one of 4 babies i handraised and he nearly died. i have a photo of him as a baby and as he was the smallest of the four that is how he got his name.

i just had to show some photos of Tweety and Runt together. Tweety has lived in the house for 12 months by himself and one month ago i introduced him to Runt and i was amazed at how well he accepted him.
  17. i asked a similar question a little while ago and got told it is normal behaviour. i have two male budgies that are the best of friends, when they are out of the cage they follow each other everywhere and are constantly kissing and preening each other.
  18. i just went and took a new photo of her and noticed her bars are going lighter. she is a cobalt spangle i think. it was cloudy when i took the photo so who blue is darker than how she looks in the photos.
  19. i hope she settles down. she is only 4 months old and she has my other 5 budgies in the aviary scared of her. she is still scruffy looking and has all her black stripes on her head still. sorry, not sure what you call the marks on their head so i hope you know what i mean. it is interesting what you where saying about different conditions make the moulting times vary because my handraised male is in the house and is the same age and has not started moulting at all.
  20. thanks , your info helps. i was just wondering how long because violet my handraised baby is still biting and started to fight with the other females and i was wanting to know how long before she gets out of the mood she is in. it sounds like she will be back to normal in a month.

great setup, i was thinking the same as ravengypsy and wondering if you had building plans for the cabinets. i used to colony breed and now i want to do cabinet breeding and looked at buying cabinets but they are expensive at the pet shops.it would be cheaper to build my own and i like your ideas.
  22. congrats, hope it all goes well for you.

  24. beautiful birds norm, how long does it take for a budgie to go through there first moult, my baby budgie has just started moulting.
