  1. Normally Tweety and Runt never go near water but today i took their cage outside which i rarely do because it is too big to move.Once they where outside in the sun they started playing in their water so i had to take photos and video it. http://s221.photobucket.com/albums/dd44/Mi...=Picture036.flv i hope the video works because this is the first time i have downloaded a video onto photobucket and posted link.
  2. It was hard to move the cubby house because it is all timber and the base is a solid wood pallet. My husband has a bad back so after we finished he had to lay on the lounge with a heat pack on his back and took alot of pain killers.
  3. Last weekend we moved the cubby house and then during the week i level the ground for the aviary.Today my husband is doing trips to pick up my bricks and the base is finally getting put down for my aviary. i cannot wait to get it finished because i am having problems with the young birds picking on a couple of old males in the aviary and once i have 2 aviaries i can seperate them.
  4. It was lucky you where around to notice it before they got out. Hopefully they will not keep trying to find a way to get out.
  5. Congrats on number 6, hope fully they will all be fertile and you wil have lots of cute baby budgies.

A friend just rang me to ask advice for her budgies. He has been rubbing his eye and has rubbed the feathers off around the outside of his eye and his eye is half closed. There are no vets opened till monday so i was wondering is there something she could bathe the eye in to stop it from being itchy so he will leave it alone. He is fine in himself, no runny poos, chirping and eating. She is not sure if he is moulting.

i had one of my budgies take 3 months to go through her first moult.
  8. i just got my second egg but i have noticed that her poos are runny and there is a liitle bit of blood on the egg. is that normal? Yesterday and this morning her poos were fine, they have change as she has got closer to laying her egg.
  9. i have been on the internet this morning browsing online stores to buy some egg and biscuit mix for when the babies hatch but there so many differnet brands and there is also budgie starter as well. Has anyone heard of the Passwell brands and if they are okay. What is the difference between Egg and biscuit mix and budgie starter.
  10. that is great that 3 have hatched for you. They grow so quickly, it is amazing the difference between the eldest and youngest.
  11. Thanks Norm, hopefully i will get at least one df spangle from the babies. She is constantly in the nesting box so would that mean the first egg will hatch in 18 days instead of 20 if it is fertile.
  12. She is a white spangle.
  13. congratulations Erin, she is a cute cat.
  14. i am very excited and i am eagerly waiting to see if she will lay another egg but can anyone tell me what type the babies might be.
  15. Hope things go well with your daughter and you have a nice wedding anniversary dinner tonight.
  16. I hope you find a nice surprise soon!!! The 18 days kind of feels like when you're a kid waiting for christmas... i got my first egg today, now i will be waiting for friday to come to see if i get another egg.
  17. Glad to hear that your eggs are fertile this time. i can understand being excited. i have been spending the last few day checking my nestbox eagerly waiting for a egg to appear. Now i want the 18 days to go quickly.
  18. Last week i moved B1 and B2 to a breeding cabinet because she was trying to make a nest in her quarintine cage. She has finally decided to lay a egg today after spending the last few days playing in the nestbox.B1 and B2 are both living in the nestbox and only coming out to feed. Now she has laid a egg i was wondering what will be the outcome. She is a df spangle and he is a skyblue violet spangle.
  19. the only other opaline i have is a pet type, these are my only show budgies. i know that none of them are related. the green spangle's mother was a blue opaline spangle and the father was light green normal so if i breed him with the opaline grey hen whose parents where a normal grey and oplaine grey what would be the results.
  20. congrats on 4 eggs and that the parents are going well.
  21. George girl is so cute and glad to hear that Amira is looking after her new baby.
  22. i do love opalines but can i breed a opaline x oplaine or will the result give a not defined v pattern. can i breed anyone of these birds together to give me nice show quality looking birds or should i look for normals to breed with them. i do not intend upon showing budgies till my kids are older but i would like to learn about them.
