  1. The 5th baby was dead in the shell and 6 and 7 eggs are clear so i have ended up with 4 bubs which is still pretty good for my first cabinet breeding. Here is a pics of my cuties who mum and dad are looking after very well.
  2. that is great that you got 5 babies and glad to hear they are going well.
  3. that is really awful, i hope the landlord does get back to her so the problem can get sorted out. You might have to visit your parents lots so you can get a BBC fix. my husband says that you can get wireless internet connections now. here is some links to info. Bigpond http://my.bigpond.com/internetplans/broadb...iew/default.jsp Optus http://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal...p;site=personal Virgin Broadband also has a service but when i just went there the page was broken or something G'day Maesie, Mick here- Debs hubby. The wireless these companies use comes with a doo-hickie you plug into your USB port (dongle, actually) and it connects to the wireless networks provided by the broadband companies. they are pretty good and reliable and you could travel out into the country with your laptop and still be working the Budgie forum

it is just for a aviary for the budgies, the 12mm wire is a thicker gauge than the 18mm. the gauge is 1.3mm where as the 18mm wire was only 0.8mm.
  5. thanks for your help, still trying to understand genetics and the mother has black eyes so i assumed all df spangles started with black eyes. It looks like i will end up with 2 df spangles which will be nice. The 5th egg which is fertile is due to hatch today.
  6. i have no idea of the parents background so i was thinking i would just get spangles so it is going to be interesting to see when they get feathers what types i end up with. the youngest hatch on sunday but his eyes look a lighter colour as well.the eyes do not look as light as the ones in Kaz's pics though.i finally got photobucket working so here are some pics of my cute little bubs.
  7. My 3rd baby has just opened it eyes but it has red eyes compared to the older 2 who have black. The father is a skyblue violet spangle and the mother is a white df spangle so genetically can they produce a albino or is there another reason it could have red eyes.i took photos but i can not get photobucket to work at the moment.

Good news, the seller is happy to sell me a roll of the 12mm wire instead for a extra cost but i do not mind paying more money to get wire that is suitable.

  10. they look so much better, you have done a great job.

i am more worried about mice because i have always got mice around my place even though i have 2 cats. they are too lazy to catch the mice.

i have not pay for the wire yet and i have noticed the guy sells other size wire so i am hoping if i explain my mistake he might let me purchase some of the better wire from him instead.

Late last night i purchase some aviary wire from ebay that was advertised as bird wire and now i have won it i realised that the holes are 18mm which i know mice will get through so how high should i put make the colourbond walls from the ground to keep mice out or is it not good wire at all for a aviary.i realise now it is not a good idea to browse ebay when you are tired.

They are beautiful birds especially Edmund. Mac and Tess are cute as well. That is great they you are helping your friends out by looking after their pets. i would find it hard to do it for 9 months because i would get too attached to them and would find it hard to give them back.
  17. congrats on number 3 and glad you found a cage at a good price.
  18. i got 4 little babies now, except the older babies do not look little anymore compare to the new one. it is so tiny compared to the other ones. i think the older ones are pinching all the food. it hatched last night but still does not have much food in its crop.
