  1. I have a spare bed Kaz, anytime you want to go for a drive there will be a cuppa waiting.
  2. I have great news, my hubby has got a couple of days off work and even though it is windy and cold he is doing some more work on my avairy. Yeah. I have also dragged my 12 year old son out of his room away from his computer to help my hubby. I will post some pics tonight. My 2 youngest got all rugged to go out and help or hinder i think it ended up being. My son was trying to dig a hole and Lucy, my 2 year old thought it was more fun to grab her sandpit shovel and put the dirt back in the hole.

Thanks Kaz, i knew you would be able to give me a answer to what the spangle was.It looks like Roxy has a brother and sister and they all look different.

Thanks Jenene for photos, i love the one with white wings.Do you think they are boys or girls, i have been told both boys but i was wondering now they are older what do you think?

That is a cute photo. I love the way they are both squeezed on the same swing.
  6. sorry i should have said that not using pellets is my personal perference because there are members on here that do use them. You said that they were skipping the pellets and just eating the seed so i was thinking if they do not like pellets then let them have seed.
  7. Congratulations Neat, your signatures are always beautiful.

She will be a very special bird to me,after all the problems that came with my first cabinet breeding she will always remind me that beautiful things can come from a bad situation. Her 2 brothers are also doing really well with Jenene and her foster hen.

Roxy is a skyblue opaline spangle.
  10. I would not worried about using pellets ,if you have a good seed mix they do not need pellets. With vegies it will take them a while to start eating them when you first introduce them. Try sprinkling seed over the vegies.

Roxy feed herself today for the first time and loved it. i made her mashed egg with egg and biscuit mix and now she will not eat from the syringe, she would rather feed herself. She will not touch the millet spray at all but will peek at seed that i sprinkle on the bottom of her cage.

sorry to hear about your budgies not being well, i hope things improve for you.
  14. Jake did not get to the vets, long story why he did not and i do not feel like going into it. I rang the vet instead and he said that putting antiseptic cream on it was good for him and should help it heal. He is looking heaps better today and the wound has dried up.
  15. i think if you moved them to another cage it might upset the parents and they could stop feeding them.Maybe you could lay some sawdust on the floor of the cage under the box so if they fall out it is a softer landing for them.I would be holding the babies once a day so they will get used to being held.
  16. Sorry to hear that Arkady is still not well, i hope the vets can work out what is going on so he can come back home to you.
  17. I find the budgies very relaxing but my hubby is not an animal person so he sees them as work.
  18. i am hoping the vet will give me some antibiotics for Jake to help keep away infections. i know Hubby is just worried about the budgies and 4 kids[ one child needing alot of time] being too much for me to do and that is why he wants me to slow down on the budgie breeding. I would love him to hurry up and finish the aviary though.

That is good that he is like that, my wire for my new aviary arrived 2 weeks ago and is still sitting at my back door waiting for my hubby to decide to put it on the framework.
  20. I have got a appointment tomorrow with the vet and i have been cleaning it regularly because when he eats he gets seed husks stuck to the gooey part.

She has bonded very well and is spoilt rotten. When she needs to have a sleep and i need to get some work done i put her in her cage and i have to put her in the laundry and shut the door so she cannot see me or hear me or else she keeps calling out for me.

Roxy is 4 weeks old today and she is going really well. I had to show some photos because she is so cute. She hates going into her cage, she would rather be snuggled up in my arms.

Roxy is 4 weeks old now so i am going to try to wean her but what i was wondering can i give her egg and biscuit mix to start with or should she have soaked seed. She has millet spray in her cage but is not interested in it.
