Emergency
Sorry... but an Emergency vet is required here. Waiting until tomorrow will most likely see it pass. Budgie do not show their illness until they are very sick, to have a bird lying down on the bottom of the cage is a very bad sign. I really hope is was no where near any of your other birds. Good luck and please let us know how you got on at the vets.

9-5... ( Ish )
I thought it might be fun to have a topic to learn a little more about each other. We all have a common love of budgies and birds in general, but what do we do for a job... study, work in an office, stay at home parent??? Share a little about yourself if you like. :hmm: I'll go first. I work full time as a Book Binder. We mainly focus on Wedding albums, and create them from scratch for Professional Photographers, but we do do some old style book binding, so newspapers, thesis' and restorations etc... I have been in this Career for 3 1/2 years and really enjoy the challenges it brings on a day to day basis. I've always been creative and used to love making things at home, and when I got this job I couldn't believe I could get paid to make stuff  It's pretty cool. Below are some pictures of the type of stuff we make as it's really hard to explain it. Your turn...

Cosmo is sick
I'm so glad he's home. I'm sure he'll be fragile for awhile. Perhaps you could keep them separate but give them time together, inside or out of cage, depends on what you think Cosmo can handle best. Does he like millet and sunflower seeds? If so I'd make sure he had them... I know when I had sick birds, eating millet was always a positive sign and a big hit. If his balance is off, you could give him a thicker perch inside his cage, so he doesn't have to balance as 'full on', this is unless adding to his cage might freak him out, as changes probably aren't a good idea. As to the pellets... changing his diet now would be stupid!!! Not that you are going to . You could always have some in another dish if you like. The probiotic could be worth a try to if you want. If it were me, I'd probably see how he goes for a few days, and if he's putting on weight and seeming better, then I'd add it. I'd hesitate to add it straight away, only because adding it to his water or food may put him off it, which you don't want. I've used it in the past, and it seems to have helped. I'm still keeping your little fella in my thoughts and hoping he keeps on improving.

Eggs
Hi and welcome. I'd get rid of the breeding box and eggs. They won't hatch now if they have been there that long. If you want to breed in the future, I'd read up on it and go from there, but for now... I'd remove it and let them be. The hen (female) may lay an egg or two off the perch, but without a nest box, she should stop. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

Bald Ears Overnight
If there are other symptoms, as LIV mentioned above, here's the link to the topic I remembered... although the pictures in this thread do seem to be worse than your guy. Ear Infection

Bald Ears Overnight
Here's a photo of the budgie in question. (Also had trouble getting photobucket to download it ll_bucky!?!?) ~~~ I can't remember how long ago, or what it was, but I remember a topic that I think was started by Dave with a similar problem. Also, if my memory serves me correctly, Liv has also dealt with a similar issue and was able to give advice... will try and find the info. ~~~

Is This Normal Behaviour
Seeing lots of activity is GOOD!!! But when a budgie is comfortable enough to sleep with the head tucked under their wing, instead of keeping 'half an eye on you', I see it as a great thing. Especially when you have inside budgies, I see it as a trust thing... same as when people say they never see their budgies drink. Both involve them taking their eyes off you = they trust you and feel comfortable around you. But hey... that's just me anyway :fear No offense meant!

Is This Normal Behaviour
Whoever told you that when birds sleep with the heads on their wing, is not a good sign, does NOT know what they are talking about It's not only a good sign, but it show they are comfortable enough in their surrounds to sleep as relaxed as that... sleeping on one leg is also good... As to your other bird, he doesn't sound well. I'd also get him to a vet asap, as they hide illness well and once you recognise it they are usually pretty sick. What are his poo's like? What colour is his cere? It could be anything and an Avian vet would be your best bet. Good luck and please keep us updated.

Watermelon
I would also be inclined to agree with Kaz. I have fed it before and I usually give them the seedless one. I also tend to think it is similar to those fruits and veggies as in nutrient value and water content. I wouldn't feed it to them all the time or in massive amounts, but in a mix with other fruits and veggies would be fine.

Building Materials
Yeah, agree with Kaz, there are mulitple topics on members aviaries. Use the search function or just look through the forum section.

My Aviary....start To Finish
Looks great... but will the birds fly into the glass windows??? I'm sure not as you wouldn't have used them if they did...

Scaling The Cage Walls After Dark
I'm pretty sure you'll know if it was a night fright. They completely loose the plot, it's very loud, they thrash around the cage and you often get an injured bird due to a damaged blood feather. My budgies, both inside and aviary often climb the wire and re-arrange themselves. I personally wouldn't be worried, unless its gets worse and he's getting injured. The fact that he has also done it on several occasions and is okay also says to be that it's not.

I Can Not Keep It A Secret Anymore.

Pet Shop Recomendations
I personally wouldn't buy from any pet shop. A breeder is always a better choice.

Out In Heavy Rain
No worries... I know if we have rain coming in the front of the aviary, my birds always sit on the front and get soaked... haha, they must love it!
-
Out In Heavy Rain
I wouldn't worry about them, as long as they have access to shelter away from the rain. If they are choosing to play in the rain good on them. Must be nice. I would however be careful of the damp/wet floors afterwards, as dampness is a perfect habitat for germs
