  1. Oh Kim, I'm so sorry for your news. Poor Lucy! As long as she's okay at the moment, make the most of your time with her. When it's time to let her go, I believe both you and her will know. It will be hard for you both, but may you gain strength in the fact you have done the very best for her you could! She loves you for it and always will, no matter how much longer you have together. ((((((hugs))))) to you Kim and Lucy maesie xxx ooo xxx
  2. Good progress thus far... fingers crossed to you all :hap:

  4. Hi Julie and welcome! You'll learn a lot here, just be willing to listen. Many of the members have a great deal of experience and are here to help you and your budgies. Ask away and remember, no question is EVER stupid :(Laughing out loud):
  5. They should listen!!! Mother knows best :(Laughing out loud):
  6. All in favor say 'I'... okay, it's settled then, we'll be joining forces and moving in, now, we'll need to hold another meeting to discuss dates.... are there any other issues we need to bring up today (and no,we are not asking mum for a plasma TV), or can we break for millet and water??? :hap:
  7. What a stunning budgie Liv, love those colours!
  8. Only a suggestion :(Laughing out loud): That's fair though, you know them best!!! ...and there's probably enough stress as it is. If you just keep a close eye on them when they settle at night and give them a talking to if they start to bicker, I'm sure they'll get the idea. Budgies are usually pretty smart and are fast learners. Sounds like they already know who's boss! Good Luck :(Laughing out loud):
  9. Crackle 24days old... She's now about two and has herself a nice 'man'
  10. Nice job there! If only I hadn't just eaten... damn! Make sure you get plenty of pics of them eating it. Happy Birthday to them for tomorrow xxx

That's so funny!!! She's definately trained you well... like when little kids throw there spoon on the floor over and over again so you'll pick it up
  13. It sounds like you've been given some great advice already, but I'll add my two bobs worth :(Laughing out loud): . I would definately be leaving them caged whilst you're not home, it's too risky not to. I have an avairy and find my budgies tend to bicker at night just as they are settling also (and they have ample room) It's like when we toss and turn in bed to get comfy... maybe remove the four swings and replace them with something else for a while. They'll find some where else to sleep no worries. You could also try to tire them out during the day, so they have less energy to bicker at night. Try foraging toys... paper bags/newspaper filled with seed/fruit and vegies that they have to 'dig' for... Give them chewing/shreading toys... anything to keep them busy and pre-occupied. Worth a try anyway. Good luck and keep us updated

  18. Hi and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about little Jake. It sounds like it could be either stress or something else??? You can imagine how much stress moving puts on us humans, well it's prob worse for our feather friends. Esp if he's been in the same house for 5 years. Do you have bird vet near by? Maybe get a check up for him? A month of runny poos can't be real good for his body. Birds can also be really good at hiding their illnesses. They don't like to let anyone know they're unwell. Watch him closly, keep up his fresh fruit and vegies and possibly add some vitamins? Good luck and please keep us updated.
