  2. So he's not from Tasmania... (Laughing out loud)... Thanks for that info Daz. I'll look into in. I couldn't find any info on a Tasi club so you're prob right. If this is the case... I might have myself a very good bird?
  3. Rain... what a nice interuption!!! It's great you got your neighbours aviary, good get! Your plans sound really good. I bet you can't wait for them to begin...
  4. Thakns Norm... I kind of guess the Tas and 05 thing... It's exciting to think he came from there (obviously not flown though). I might do some reasearch into him. Cheers xxx
  5. I've posted this fella here before, but I've never had a good link at his ring. It's pink/purple and says... BGV TAS 05 (that bit is a diamond and 5 running side ways) and then 020. This is Tweet Tweet here: Sorry about quality... just wanted to show size difference I didn't buy this boy. He flew into out back yard and could not find his family. Is he a nomal pet budgie or a show type. He is not huge compared to my others, but his head is bigger and the feathers on it are fluffier... Any thoughts???
  6. That's great news for all '4' of you!!! Keep 'em comming girl :(Laughing out loud):

Hello and welcome to you, your family and Miss Olly. I hope you enjoy yourself here, learn some things you didn't know and make some new friends. You may like to check out the FAQ's. They have a wealth of information to get you started. Maesie
  8. Poor Oliver. It must have been horrible for you. I'm glad he is okay and hope he continues to improve.
  9. Sorry the bird had to be put down, but atleast now it's not in pain or uncomfortable... I hope your friend is okay.
  10. That swing looks fantastic!!! When I first made my toys, the tiels took about 5 mins to check them out, some of the budgies took 5 days!!! It looks like your birds are going to be very spoilt... :hap:
  11. Hi and welcome to this wonderful forum... Did you go to a normal vet or an avian one? There advice is not good. If they think this behaviour is caused by a viral infection or something else and recommended you getting a new budgie, I don't think they know what they are talking about. Did they do any tests? Physical exam etc... I'd be finding your nearest avain vet and definately be finding out what is wrong with Declan (cute name) before even thinking about getting him a new friend. You are right with that. Can you post any pics of him? Is he showing any other symptoms? Any more info you can give us? If after you get him sorted out, you could get a friend to keep him company, but the new budgie would have to be quarantined in another room for 30 days before introducing them. Good luck with your little guy and please keep us updated. Maesie
  12. Hi and welcome. I hope all goes well with the little one and the ones still with Mum and Dad. We have a few really good hand rearers here and I'm sure they'll help you out if they can. Maesie

How is your ant problem going Little One? I'm not sure if you read, but I recently concreted my aviary, and ever since (only a week) I have had no ants in there... I know it hasn't been long, but perhaps they may not come back because they can't climb up from the floor and get my food... I'm hoping this will continue to be the case and the problem will be over (touch wood). I hope you have also found some success.
  14. It's great that they are all doing well and Sebby was moved in time. It's also excellent Pale Ale is doing better. Good luck with the fledgings and I hope you get your interenet fixed soon (such a pain when it plays up!!!)

  24. Hi and yah!!! Great news. I have just concreted my aviary (used to be dirt, then pavers) and it's 1,000,000 times better. Eaiser to clean, keeps nasties out and just looks good too. I got my aviary from Mitre 10 (I'm sure they're be one near you). They just ordered it for me (I'm not sure through who), but it was delivered and if I wanted to pay more, I THINK you can get it put up also, although I did my own. Good luck and please let us follow your journey!!!
  25. Great news! Well spotted and healed.
