  1. Your budgie will feel more comfortable being high. Try putting something soft under the cage (ie. a towel) to help reduce the vibration of noise though the wooden wardrobe ( wooden furniture asks like a microphone and exaggerates sounds ) Is your cage 70cm wide or tall??
  2. Congratulations Cheryl on your new family member!! remember Lilbabybudgies, that the note above the off topic forum states "Questions regarding health and support etc. of other animals besides budgies will be removed. However, feel free to post about your other pets with images etc." But the posting of pictures and stories about other animals here is fine
  3. :anim_19: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Sounds like an awesome day!!!
  4. Awwwwwww... gorgeous... what type of parrot is it??
  5. haha so cute. I agree with GB that she looks like a spider hanging there.
  6. I think you could fit around 80 in there
  7. **Liv** replied to nitsuD's topic in Aviaries
    I would say around 20 - 30
  8. Ebay is notorious for bad cages If its getting sold by someone still, send them an email letting them know its not apropriate, or send us the link so one of us will send them an informative email
  9. Hope its all going well today :budgiedance:
  10. About 20 years ago when i had a white Christmas with some family in Canada When was the last time you caught up with someone you hadn't seen for over 10 years?
  11. She is a lovely hen MB! you must be very proud of her. Are you able to breed her parents again next time?? if so, DO! as you want more like her
  12. :anim_19: :anim_19: Congratulations to you both!!!
  13. GB, i believe the standard is 10 inches long... What do you think about her??? She is a normal grey, bred from spangles. I feel she could be one of his hens as i tend to allocate a cock 2 hens. I wish she were bigger though as she is quite small and she needs to add condition as she is underweight.
  14. They are from a breeder in west lakes, so a bit of a drive, but well worth the trip
  15. thanks pearce. The grey green hen was having a bit of a pose... she looks more like this when she is not showing off hehe And i forgot this baby hen
  16. I visited a breeder yesterday who was having a major cull and selling over 150 birds, so i spent about 2 hours going though them all and these are the ones i brought home. An opaline Spangle Sky hen - who refused to perch A grey Green Hen A big blue hen who also refused to perch A little grey hen who i think has lovely directional feather and wide mask A YF grey hen who is a wonderful mother and was a mistaken sale. it wasnt until the breeder checked the records that she realised that she was the hen of the chicks who won best bird at the last show. I offered her back, but she said i could still take her as i had already paid. (she needs to rest until july) A grey green spangle cock, who is bigger than ALL my other birds. A Grey Spangle hen who is also a brilliant proven mother who produces really nice chicks. (she needs to rest until july) I think i have completed my breeding stock birds now
  17. I'm done too. I can see why it was not right for you Kaz, its really only suited for people who have inside pet birds.
  18. You have stunning birds Kaz!!! I really like him And her
  19. AWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwww **Melts off seat**  Second from right please!! SSSSSOOOOOOOooo Adorable!!!! :cake:

I have a tiel forum with a few Melbourne members there. the link is in my signature if your interested in visiting. If you are wondering which is better as a pet, then here I will tell you budgie and on the other forum i will tell you tiel haha. Seriously though, they are both wonderful companion birds and both bond closely to their owner, both talk and both can learn to do tricks, so overall the choice is yours as to which you prefer the best
  21. I have one that has a little feather disturbance, but i never thought anything of it... Its kind of like a cow lick on his left shoulder.
  22. Oh so exciting!! lkjs djldoip ljsdklj lkjskjl s jlkjlsjlk Oh dear, I cant type very will with my fingers crossed hehe
  23. Hello and welcome. I agree you have a very cute boy!
  24. I have to retract my vote as I am not sure again. I have a lutino hen who has never had a dark cere here she is Although your birds cere doesnt look the same as that either.... Oh my... Soooo confusing
  25. It's a competitive world out there for some show breeders. Some breeders are very protective of their lines. Some remove leg rings on culled birds so the line is not trace able. Would love to see pics
