Here is a link to a mating expectations table which might also help answer some of your qustions ----> HERE

  14. How cute!! Looks like the budgies are having a rabbit rodeo, trying to see who can stay on the longest
  15. I have hens that do this too. I take away the eggs when layed and then remove the box when the babies are fledged

Hello and welcome We love pictures and we would love to see pictures of your birds. Good luck with your little guy who has splayed legs. Keep us posted on his progress
  17. That is brilliant!!! It was SOOOOO easy to read too! I couldn't fault it and i understood it all P.s - That is not double posting, you just replied to your own topic which is perfectly fine
  18. Use Melamine instead of bare wood This is Daz's picture of the melamine he used to build some awesome breeding cabinets. It's easy to clean Also, Why are you separating the sexes? Normally it is not needed as boys and girls get along fine if there is no nest boxes separating the sexes can harm breeding patterns too, as they can bond to birds of their own gender (if you get what i mean)

Hello and welcome, Elly and Kaz have asked the questions, and i am looking forward to the answers You are in the right place to all the answers you need :fear
  20. Breeding cages need to be a simple as possible. Anything that will distract the male such as mirrors (as you know), bells, and other playful toys may leave the hen feeling rejected. They will be too busy to play with toys and they don't need them anyway as they will not be bored :fear
  21. WOW Kaz!! Congratulations on your massive budgie number increase!!!! They all look so lovely too :fear
  22. WOOO HOOOO!!!!!! Well done!!! Elly... what about your 14,000!!! posts!!!!!! Congrats to you too!!!!!
  23. That is great news that Charlie is doing really well Personally I think his wings are fine - I don't like to leave the long feathers as they can get tangled in the cage wire and normally end up all messy. I hope you have the best fun buying toys for him. My birds favorite toys are, clothes pegs, pony beads threaded on stainless steel wire, raffia threaded through plastic practice gulf balls etc. Also they love the rings and swings. There is no need to spend a lot of money - they are a bit like babies, give them an expensive toy and they would much rather play with the box hahaha
