Is your friend able to have your birds at their house?? One week is too long to leave budgies on their own. Also being two birds, they can get into more trouble than a single bird can.
  4. Hello and welcome
  5. I am a member of NEBS. I am not a professional show breeder - I haven't even produced a chick from 2 rung parents yet. Anyone can join a budgie club - it is the only way you will get rings and there are (normally) lots of lovely people willing to help newbies
  6. What a lovely day I am so pleased lots of good vibes are heading your way
  7. I agree with Neat no. 5 looks normal - i don't see any unusual markings
  8. I am so sorry What a horrible day Sending you biggest ...
  9. Make sure you have your speakers on http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=z3U0udLH974&...feature=related
  10. WOW!! That looks brilliant!!!
  11. I am so sorry to hear about all the damage that has happened to the old girl She still looks beautiful I would have thought the people in customs would have more respect for others property Did you get any of the "looks" you thought you might get on the drive home??
  12. They are lovely chicks - nice and BIG too
  13. YAY!! Two bubs!!! Congratulations!!!
  14. Light is a major part of breeding - most light loving creatures get depressed and low on energy if they don't get enough light every day. You could install a fluro light in your room. They are about $30 from bunnings and You can get ones that just plug into a power point - then attach an automatic timer (about $25 from Big W ) and they will have plenty of light
  15. good luck i think it really sucks now you cant see the id of people who are bidding. I had a list of friends and we all agreed not to bid against each other - but now we cant tell
  16. WOOOOOOOW!! What a bargain!!!!!! Sorry AV, no good for budgies - it says the bar spacing is 2cm. I am not sure about the quaker though...
  17. Poor Harley. I am so pleased he is happy again - must be true love if he even rejected his mirror
  18. Dont know we are putting a wood side too, but I cant seem to get mine to breed, lumina only stays in condition for a couple of days then comes out I think I'm doing something wrong To get a hen into condition you need to make sure she has a quality diet of seed and fresh food every day. She also needs calcium in her diet every day - supplement in her water is best, as well as a calcium block and cuttle fish. She will need adequate light though the day too - about 12-14 hours of bright white light (I will be useing fluro's on a timer) to stimulate her hormones into thinking is summer. Some hens will go into condition when they have a nest box and makes them 'clucky' Your male will also need the above things too as males can go out of condition too.
  19. Sounds like a wonderful loving breeder!!
  20. So pleased she is okay Deb!! my house is open plan too and i keep mine clipped all the time too. It freaks me out with all the trouble they can get into You could clip Roxy's wings a little, just to stop her getting so much height.
  21. Hello and welcome Elly has given some great advice and i look forward to hearing their progress.
  22. Three eggs Yay!! I am so pleased you have them on their own as i colony bred last year and it was a disaster!!
  23. I am so pleased he is better Raspberry cordial kills bacteria in the gutt, that is why it is good for when the birds have gastro. Considering Sunny's lack of bacteria in his gutt, i would NOT give cordial!
  24. sounds great How are you planning to attach a nest box?
