  1. The Dad's parents would have have to have passed Ino genes to him in order to create an Ino chick. The chick is female. Was aprille or her partner Ino??
  2. Thanks, I am a member of vetafarm but calcivet their is $18 for a 100 ml bottle and AVI-CAL on ebay is $9.25 for 125 ML. Thanks Yes that is a good price - I got mine for about $12 new. I would worry about ebay though as this stuff seems to have a failry short useby. - perhaps ask the seller for useby details.

    GO FISH!!! Am sooooo desperate for a digital SLR!!! Are you into gadgets??
  10. As Elly said, There is not much the vet can do if its an environmental issue. If the chemicals are strong enough to effect you, imagine how they would be effecting the tiny respiratory system of your budgie. Perhaps ask your mum to ease up on the chemicals as they make YOU feel unwell - She may not do it for your budgie, but i bet she would do it for you
  11. Pet shops What you have is a vitamin and mineral supplement (as you know) and it is great for your budgies. I give it to my birds twice a week. But, It is not the same as calcivet. I have AVI-CAL which is the same as calcivet. It's main ingredient is calcium - also has some vit D3 and magnesium.
  12. That's what i thought would happen He is at peace now :angel1:

    Black beaks are fine!! It's believed to be a good sign of healthy genes I hope i get some chicks with black beaks this season Awwwww Elly I haven't seen Merlin's baby pictures before - What a cutie
  17. You said it Lib!! It's unique, with my own ideas and months of research into an rare and infectious diseases, illnesses and viruses, treatments, diagnosis methods. The hardest part is getting House's unethical jerkiness with just the right amount of hidden softness. I have had a number of authours and people in the know tell me that its excellent!! Just have to get the big production company in LA to read a script from an Australian Nobody!! I have started another... but i have decided not to write it any more until something happens with my first one.
  18. It's hard when your not in charge of the house. Do you find you get headaches, nausea, dizziness or feelings of anxiety when there are chemicals in the air? If you do, perhaps you could talk to your mum about it. There are so many sites that have heaps of chemical free cleaners etc. If all else fails, you will need to keep your room as fragrance free as possible for your little budgies.
  19. I agree with Elly. I used to use all different splays and cleaners in my house before, but since having the birds inside, i know the dangers it poses for them so now my chemical cupboard is gathering dust and cobwebs Air freshners and carpet cleaners dont do any good anyway. they just mask the oders. To deodorise, use baking soda sprinkled evenly over your carpet, leave over night then vacuum up I use vinegars now instead of disinfectant, and i only use bleach in the toilet with the door shut and the window wide until the fumes vent. I feel so much better without the chemicals - they made me feel sick and I used to clean more thinking that my house was dirty and making me feel sick, so would use more chemicals and then feel sicker. Now that i have taken away the chemicals (except for a few basic ones for really dirty messes) I FEEEL SO MUCH BETTER Good luck
  20. My main tip is the same as others have said. Natural defuse white light is what is needed - full sun is too much light. Any photos taken under ceiling lights etc will always looks discoloured and grainy. Second tip is TURN OFF THE FLASH! Use plenty of defuse natural white light instead as a flash will wash out your photo in most cases. Third tip. dont get too close. Take your photo at a little distance and then crop it with an image editing tool. If you have do a closeup make sure you use the macro setting (looks like a little tulip) and no flash - lots of natural defuse white light Also remember to resize your pictures to below 640 x 480 px before posting on BBC forums.
  21. Neat's budgies ---> :D
  22. I do the same as maesie - I leave the eggs. In summer i was just about to toss some unhatched eggs because the chicks were geting big and the eggs looked past it. To my surprise one hatched!! There was over a week age gap between the chicks but i am so glad i left the eggs
  23. I believe Daz was referring to the whole "breeding show budgerigars" section, not just this topic :hap:
