awwwwwww - i bet that made the vets day - what a cute story and what a really well behaved patient
  2. You would need an internal and external perch for feeding if you use a tiel box. I have never noticed a problem with the regular budgie boxes before.
  3. so cute! looks like he had a lovely shower
  4. 4 out of the 6 babies have left their boxes in the last day or so Daisy Diva Bumble Claude Cadbury Angelica
  5. lovely photos they are all growing so nicely. The baby in the first photo is a boy
  6. She is a stunner Kaz. I can see the purply colour in her cere like what is in mine.... so hen then... see i said i was confused  I didn't add the baby photos because the fluro light seems to be as bad as a camera flash at drowning out the colour. this chick is definitely a boy, but looks like a hen under the fluro lights
  7. I have this beautiful little chick who really stumps me with its gender. I keep thinking boy... but it also looks henish too - i am so confused I am interested to hear what you think.... boy or girl ?????
  8. Thats fine the mites do not require instant treatment, but left too long will cause the beak to deform
  9. I also agree that one looks like a boy and the boy has scaly face. ivermectin can normally be gotten from a vet. i am yet to see it in a shop. most breeders have some, perhaps one near you can give you some
  10. The chicks look old enough to be moved in a cage with a container in the bottom - they should be fine. just keep a close eye to make sure the parents keep feeding...
  11. Look how they have all grown Yep all hens They all look normal green. some dominant pieds and a cinnamon
  12. The egg powder looks great It says to store between 8-15 degrees - how is that possible? its too warm for a fridge, but too cool for a pantry??
  13. I have a messy feeder hen who i have to pull food from inside the chicks beaks twice a day I really hope this little chick turns out okay. I feel your frustration - i had one thing after another too - seems the season for what can go wrong, will I hope its all upwards and onwards from here.

  17. how cute :happy-dancing: he is a clever boy
  18. Thats really cool!! and there is heaps of room for more too :happy-dancing:
  19. you are being given great advice already so i'd just like to add an idea on separating the pairs. Divide your cage in two (one on top of the other) by adding a solid floor half way down the cage. You cage already has 6 doors so it wouldn't cause any issues, leave the breeders in the top and put the other two in the bottom half. :happy-dancing: You may have to wait until between breeding to change the cage though
  20. Oh geez they are totally blury :happy-dancing: but going on the colour he is a BOY
  21. if its on the outside and not where the birds can chew it - any exterior paint suitable for the surface will be fine provided the fumes have fully cleared before the birds go in
  22. WooHoo!! The blue colour is so pretty!! Congrats!!!
  23. WOOO HOOOO Congratulations on your little miracle baby :angel1:
  24. haha - good luck with him
