New Here
Hi EarthAngel and welcome to the forum. The people here are very knowledgeable and helpful I'm not one of them though, I'm fairly new myself. From what I have learned though, whatever your budgie's colour is, is the colour he will stay. I'm not experienced enough to tell the sex of such a young budgie, but i did want to say what a cutie he is

Feeling Ill
Wow......I just read the whole story and like so many others, I had tears. I am glad Katie has had a happy ending and as said before, Kudos to you, Katie and her mum for your actions and at least putting these poor birds out of their misery. I think Sexy is a rockin name!!

Some Of My Thoughts:
Interesting reading Norm. I have an "over sterilisation" philosophy which applies to life in general, similar to your own. I think people are getting paranoid about too many natural germs etc and its the reason we, as humans also suffer so much more from disease and illness. Normal cleanliness is healthy, but all these soaps, wipes and detergents that disinfect.....are they really necessary? (under normal circumstances of course).

Bebe And Monty
Thank you for all your responses. Monty has now had a name change, she is now Ceecee, so I have Bebe and Ceecee (Laughing out loud). They both fledged over the weekend and are such little miss independents and daddy is doing such a great job of still fussing over his girls making sure they are still getting their food

Meet My New Boys
I had an awful accident with one of my birds a few months ago. I know exactly how you feel, but as the other guys said, accidents are accidents. They happen. None of us are perfect, thats what makes us human. Forgive yourself and dont be too hard on yourself. I am sure you the rest of your babies love the wonderful home and love you give *hugs*

Nesting Box Question
Sorry to be a pain, but just to clarify things so I dont upset any of my girls..... I have a couple of boxes with chicks, one has two babies, the other two only have one each at this time. I just put a couple of handfuls of wood shavings in the one with two babies, and also the one with the older baby, but not the single one. Should I put it in all boxes that have chicks? About how much? I did notice the mother of the older chick hesitated before reentering the box and I worried overnight that the younger chicks mother might not go back in the box because of the "strange new stuff", but on checking this morning, everything seems fine. Would a hen ever get upset at this new addition and not go back in to look after her babies?

Baby Colour Question
Thanks guys.......youre all so good at helping and giving advice to us newbies. Bebe took her first little flight indoors when I had her out today, but she hasnt fledged from her box as such yet. I tried to take a better picture of her cere this afternoon, but she's such an active little tyke, I got one on the left side and one on the right side and then one really blurry one right in the middle (Laughing out loud) :(Laughing out loud): I will try again tomorrow :yellowhead:

Baby Colour Question
(Laughing out loud)......she bites and bosses like a hen, but she's still my favourite in that clutch. I dont have a front on picture of her yet, I will try to get one tomorrow In another post I received information on the colouring of her parents "Tommy is a dominant pied cobalt. Or maybe visual violet (Gypsy might be too)" So is this what babies this pair would throw (referring to the two grey chicks), or is it possible a grey cock I had in the same aviary previously mated with Gypsy first? Of course I know nothing about colouring, but I find it odd I have grey babies from parents who both have blue colouring. Any comments welcome
