Hello
Just a quick query... Fuzz butt seems to be quite fluffed up, it's looks asthough he's going through a moult to me so i'd say he's inbetween 6 weeks and 3 months.. closer to the three month mark... Is he quite lethargic, fluffed up and light? i know no-one else has mentioned anyhting so it could just be me but in my eyes he's showing the signs of a sick bird... it could just be because of the moult though... keep a close eye on him and congrats on your new bird, glad to see he's charmed you already :fear P.s. patience is the key to training a bird this age... and perhaps wing clipping

Kaluah Eating From Cookies Mouth
I wouldn't strictly say it's normal as i also have budgies and weero's housed together in an avairy... but hey, like they say, If it's not broke, don't fix it... so aslong as no-ones getting hurt, i'm sure it's fine :yellowhead: must be cute to see :budgiedance:

Kiki's And Lala's Big Day Out!
No bea, not worried at all they're both clipped Kiki has all feathers except 3 primary flights and can fly really well but not unless thrown first and he has to catch a updraft, even then he can get no more height than 1/2 m off the ground... Lala has all primary flights clipped and can't fly far at all.. only to the ground, and that's about it :yellowhead: so they enjoy their"flight" time at the park when we throw them up.. Kiki got about 50ms today and then a tumble roll landing because of how much speed he had gotten up... was quite funny actually :budgiedance: he took it a little easier after that

Dusk Budgies:
Congratulations Norm glad to see you to are getting the results you want also We candled the fallow eggs today, top cabinet with three eggs so far have all fertilised... bottom with three are infertile but that may be due to the fact that either the bottom cock is too old (04) rung or because only the top cabinet had their vents clipped... who knows hey, but like you said some result is always good result, right ?

What I Do:
I too agree with your thoughts norm, i see the world is going to the "sh*tter" but neuclear, no matter what the experts say is not the ONLY way... instead of funding development and advertising for nuclear stations they should be researching friendlier ways to power our society without destroying our earth.

Over Reguritation
Just incase it helps and the problem arises again, i would suggest removing all reflective objects. My weero who is tame (charlie) although not a budgie used to have a habit of regugitating all over his "mate" (the mirror) almost as if he is bonded to it and trying to feed "her" since he's being put in the aviary with the other birds and had a mirror removed he hasnt done it again

Having Bad Luck...
Hi sonya, i'm sorry to hear of your bad luck with birds As i do for everyone requesting a tame budgie in adelaide i'll recommend my close friend who also comes on this forum (Sunnie) She's located in adelaide and has had many people satisfied with her birds... i'm pretty sure she has some young birds in the nest atm so if you get in quick and request or select one she'll pull it aside for you Welcome to the forum and i hope your budgie owning experience improves from here...

Poppy's Genetics
When sex linked why can't lutino's be split blue? i've never heard of this before.... I've had sexlinked hens before split to blue so how does lutino itself not apply to this rule?
-
Poppy's Genetics
Wow i didnt even click on to that factor... although it could still be quite possible if both parents are split to blue....

Hi I Have Just Started Breeding Budgies Any Tips
I cabinet breed selected birds and colony breed all others. Colony breeding can cause problems and i highly recommend that any bird causing problems be removed immediatly before a death occurs. I remove my nest boxes several times a year and watch which pairs breed so as to make sure noone over does the MAXIMUM of 3 clutches per year. As my young are placed in the aviary once eating and flying well it is also very important to make sure you take them out if they beleive they're of age to breed. NO bird under 12 months old should be bred and if they try it can cause horrible problems. A dark brown "in season" cere does not mean it's ready to breed. As for greens for the birds, i find they love lettuce, winter grass, milk thistle and the best for them of all is bok choy or spinach. Best of luck with your birds.
