  1. Welcome Sandra, any specific questions that you have to ask, feel free at any time.. Alot of our members are extremly experienced and can answer almost anything :bluebudgie:
  2. *libby* replied to Bec Sta's topic in Budgie Pictures
They seem to like the space congrats
  3. Best of luck liv... I'm also starting to venture into this world of "show birds"... i've actually just had my first two chicks hatch from "big girl and big blue" there's a topic on here somewhere about them... I have another few pairs down atm also and am waiting for babies anyday now
  4. Our forum member Norm has some saddlebacks i beleive and breeds TCB's... Slate, blackface and mottles i don't beleive anyone has on here...
  5. He does appear to be a he and is a YF1 violet/cobalt by the look of things
  6. I'd suggest going back and buying a small bag of seed.... Budgie starter is for birds being hand reared/weaned onto normal seed and chances are High he won't take to it at all
  7. I'm going to be a very Biaz person also and say... A lori they're so entertaining, talkative and easy to train... plus cheap :hap:
  8. I say keep up what you're doing tina... It won't kill them at all Sulpha D has the directions on the pack like that because just drops alone in their water isn't enough... The dose by mouth is given to ensure they've taken what is required and any extra diluted formula in their water Is an added little bonus ontop...But due to the amount of water budgies consume per day just a few drops in the water isn't enough to help much What you're doing is going well so i suggest you continue it for the written amount of days good luck
  9. The ones that're generally divided are designed for one pair even though the divider is there... so just remove one of the nest boxes and use the whole space for 1 pair
  10. Very nice bec looks like your birds will be very happy in there with lots of room
  11. Breeding boxes? or breeding cages ?
  12. Happy little vegemites
  13. *libby* replied to Pika's topic in Budgie Pictures
I think it shows alot of respect to a bird if it's buried properly... what more respect than a wood and velvet coffin for a budgie None offence intended :fear That was just what it reminded me of... she still looks gorgeous in there though
  14. *libby* replied to Max101's topic in Breeding Tips
Do you have pictures of your birds? Perhaps they're not actually Male and Female?
  15. No you don't need rings and no you don't have to join a club it's up to the breeder as an individual to take it to that level :fear
  16. Please ask about any types of birds you want here first as ...if we dont have what you want we would know more reputable breeders that do...and not all breeders in the quokka are reputable. :fear Very good point KAZ definatly NOT all breeders are reputable in the quokka... some aren't even breeders at all... just dodgy bird horders :S
  17. She wants him bad (Laughing out loud) I would too if i were a bird (Laughing out loud)... i bet he's one of the "lookers" of the birdy world :fear
  18. *libby* replied to Pika's topic in Budgie Pictures
aww gorgeous!!! haha only problem is i had a flash of it as a budgie coffin haha still cute none the less :fear
  19. There's always great finds in the quokka alot of breeders advertis in there
  20. So stunning this pair KAZ!!!! i can't wait to see the results either
  21. Welcome to you colorama and your son I hope your breeding experience second time around goes well, and like Maesie said, Don't be afraid to ask anything :fear
  22. Haha nice one ... Much like a doggie "kong" i beleive they're called ... where thye have to work to get their treat :fear
  23. I'm also in Perth Loreli and i source my birds from all sorts of different locations... Products i buy from pet stores... But birds i get from breeders, some from pet shops... (very few) But many of mine were advertised in the quokka...
  24. Nice cage :budgiedance: looks like they'd all be very happy in it
  25. I'm sorry Lucy has a tumor :budgiedance: but i am very happy that you showed what true love takes for a bird.... The fact you didn't ignore everyones advice is excellent as we have a few "members" who tend to think they know better... You did what was best for your bird and although the outcome is not a happy one, atleast you know that she can have the best, most comfortable rest of her life ahead. Don't feel guilty in anyway, shape or form as you did what was right by your bird and the tumor was not your making. Thinking of you, and wishing well for lucy Libby xx
