  1. Ahh now here i was thinking it'll make you retain water and that would somehow be a bad thing haha Bloody osmosis
  2. No licorice !! i LURVE licorice! Why are salts bad? So does that mean no naturally salty foods? E.g. Anchovies or caviar? mmm Caviar haha

Congrats, he's gorgeous!!! I'd personally put him between 6-12 weeks myself. and Agree with Kaz on mutation, yf2 cobalt normal
  4. *libby* replied to Neat's topic in Competitions

  5. Aww that's a really good decision on his behalf, you've done well to teach him! I have a soft spot for gimps also
  6. He flew back to you from out in the wild? That's awesome! I had a couple excape a cabinet last week when Bob forgot to slide the door down fully (a greywing grey and a cinnwing yf2 sky opaline spangle hen) Left behind 4 chicks in the nest But mine never came back I'm glad you got him back, although I'm unsure if he should have ivermectin, if he's already had his dose he should be protected by it until he's due for his next one
  7. I'd have taken the TCB Not only because of their rarity, but his body is nice and clear, you can barely see the blue suffision it and I think you'd be able to improve his genes with other birds very easily even if he's not that great right now.
  8. Pieds are the easiest to tell as they get patches all over them where there's pigmentation and no pigmentation, like on it's wings where it's dark then totaly clear. Spangles have a clear two middle tail feathers, Opalines have a clear white down(can be confused with smoggy white to the untrained eye but are not the same birds)... Cinnamons have plum eyes as do DF spangles, and recessive pied .... You just kind of get used to it and know to pick out traits and do guess work on the parents, but sometimes you have flukes... E.g. my split for ino cock who produced a red eyed chick, we presumed ino until it started developping cheek patches and gave me a gorgoeus little fallow
  9. Gorgeous photo's P.S. you appear to have a pied
  10. HAHA Well Done LIV!!!! I better get my butt into gear, I'm doing pathetically haha!
  11. hehe aww I do LOL I'm a sucker for a pretty birdy I had alot of losses of older pet birds over the winter so now have a bit more space which means more purchases for me and even more when I do a cull LOL!
  12. hehe if that was me and I had the option I'd have bought all 3

Added ya Look forward to seeing them soon.
  14. To pay the bills I guess, want to provide the kids with the most they can via luxuries which means as opposed to childcare they come to me... I'm just praying they don't have another one LOL!
  15. I'm going to go with SPangle recessive pied for now, but could possibly a Dominant DF as Elly stated, but by wing markings and marking structure I'd imagine not.
  16. haha I don't think anyone expects anything, but something cool and cute like a bird bookmark would be awesome I have a laminator and an awesome printer if we need it
  17. That totally hits home AV!!! I look after my brothers children everyday of the week full time and most weekends. Kain is now 3 1/2 and Lauana nearly 8 I've had him for almost 3 years of his life His first word Yahtzee (said by him as yah-gee) was taught by me He's been toilet trained by me and taught numbers and letters and everything else by me, so as far as i'm concerned and anyone around me is he's my child and I raised him also
  18. 11th of october Do we have a prize for the winner I think we should haha
  19. Oh I love slangs and sayings!!! One I found really amazing when I was at school (You know how kids look for naughty words in a dictionary) was the meaning of UGLY in the thesauras - "Face like a bag full or arseholes" HAHAHAH And one I always loved from my dad "It's like ******* in the wind talking to you" haha
  20. Babies babies everywhere haha I'm with you AV, no babies for me for a LOONGG time About 5 of my girlfriends are either pregnant or had a baby recently at the moment so that's enough to throw me off them for a while haha! As far as I'm concerned they're all too bloody young haha
  21. The first two look opaline or spangled? And the third looks opaline... last looks like a normal Great bubs AV congrats

  25. Always better for the girls to be the youngest in my eyes :hap: See then they can check out their older brothers hot friends HAHA But if it's older girl with younger brothers that's not so fun haha As Neat said, all of us can either talk you into it, or talk you out of it, but really what it comes down to is your own personal preferences, your situation and how you feel deep down about it
