  1. I think you'll find blocking the air flow and having wet sheets/towels will make it very humid and yuck in there for them with no circulation and alot of moisture. I put a fan on and hose the aviary down plus leave the sprinklers blowing a fine mist over them a few times a day. The cabinet birds have the luck of the aircon coming from my window, but get sprayed with a hand held bottle.
  2. Great photo's!!! Wow! Look how young they're! You're going to be there for a while hehe (Don't I know it)
  3. I hate to inform you that's gone beyond air in his crop :what: He's now inflating his air sacs... You'll find there's nothing you can do aside wait and hope the problem fixes itself (although their is a vet option which can be quite costly and not a definate fix) Whatever you do DO NOT try to forcefully remove this air or pop it, you'll only do damage as it's not actually in his crop!

sky violets would be my guess... opalines and normal
  5. You can do just as much damage with either really. I try to corner them and hold their wings in so no damage can be caused... In cages nets are a little bit fiddly.
  6. I use a net or my hands... Just standard catching rituals depending on what they're house in. In a cage hands are easier.
  7. Aww they're soo gorgeous!!!!!
  8. Clearly their offspring... Silly people these days.... Well atleast now we won't be given the run around by him
  9. keep a close eye on the foreign hen, she may attack them so she can take over the nest. If you see any things going wrong you will need to hand rear them or foster them to someone near by you. Better off getting them out of there now before the other hen turns on them though. Another option is taking the other hen out and seeing if the bird who flew ways partner will finish raising them.
  10. Ever so lucky!!!! I've done this before, forgot to lock the bolt and during the night it popped open about 5cm, I lost two birds

  13. He looks like a fallow hen I have, I'll see if I can find a picture of her for you...
  14. Tweety is a creamino not a lutino and your fist "green" boy is a YF blue Excellent pictures, love them all

  16. Hi there, I think these two links may help http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....hing+late+chick http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....thers+crop+milk Hope they help you...
  17. Excellent news Must be hard being so patient and waiting for her to come back in :rip:
  18. Nice article Kaz Lemon juice is an excellent stain remover. If we have a wine/cordial stain on the bench we sit lemon juice on it for a few hours, wipe off and the voila! :rip: Got to be careful using lemon juice though on kitchens Liv, can leave a sticky residue

Such a very sad situation, but atleast he's at peace now. Sounds like a lovely spot to bury him and the plaque is an excellent idea :rip:
  20. Egg

*libby* replied to lillylucas's topic in Breeders Discussion
Any hen who sits well can keep eggs warm, even through the dead of winter :rip: Try to leave her alone as much as possible and give her her space as a first time mum You say they were all babies when you got them? Do any look like one another, because to come from a breeder at the same time could mean they're actually related e.g. brother & sister, which could definatly lead to future disasters for these chicks.
  21. Wow, they're gorgeous! I love the Adelaide rosella's I think they're?
  22. Paleheaded what?
  23. *libby* replied to krosp's topic in Budgie Talk
Cosmo hasn't hit his first moult yet. He has what can be looked on as receded bars at the top of his head but they have not moulted out that way, it's natural in some birds to develop not so strong ones... When he's had his first moult you'll see the difference
