Sooo sorry to hear this You did your best *hugs*
  12. Thanks everyone for being so supportive I'd have to agree with that statement MB... only last week we rang a vet to enquire about if by being able to feel and see the kittens did that mean she was getting close to having them. She said was it a planned pregnancy, we answered honestly and said no, she then went on to say that we could abort them now I was shocked an appauled that she'd suggested that when we'd just explained how excited we were for them regardless of pedigree or planning. I understand there's an over population of unwanted cats, but had they of not found wanting homes we'd keep them. Plus we already knew several people who wanted her babies... Sad it's come to this with alot of vets
  13. My feelings exactly MB According to the vet they only had to be minimum of 63 days which they more than likely were

Sent you a pm back, don't worry about the splay leg, that can be fixed at a later date, but the main problem with this bub is hydration by the sounds of the redness
  15. Well, the day started out excellent on friday, I was relaxing and feeling quite upbeat, then around Midday I rang my sister who had been out, she had just been in a car accident !!! She wasn't hurt, but as we know it's stressful to know such things Well because I was stressed I decided to ring my mate Jessie, She picked up the phone and sounded really shaky, I asked her what was wrong (she's 4 months pregnant at the moment) She went on to explain that she had just been sexually assulted by an aborignal man at a service station in gosnells I talked to her for a while and she seemed to calm down alot and had decided not to press charges on him as she just wanted to get away from the place (The ladies behind the counter made the man leave the store after jessie ran and hid behind the counter with them). Well after that I thought the day couldn't get much worse... UNTIL 6:30... I was sitting in my room and Dad came rushing in with our cat Delilah limp in his arms, my heart sank She's very pregnant and due soon, when exactly we didn't know but the kittens could be felt kicking and be seen from the outside). He gave her to me and she was in major shock! Her pupils were dilated she was panting like she'd just ran a marathon and she'd lost all colour from her gums. I felt her stomach for any sign of life, the kittens were still moving (she'd apparently been clipped by mums car) my first thought was broken bones so I checked her over, couldn't feel any, then I thought Oh no, paralysis, but she put my mind at ease when she tried to get up and run under my bed which we stopped her, after that she lay back down and when back into her zone. I rushed Bob and Dad around to get the cat carrier whilst I rang the Murdoch university emergency sector to let them know she was being rushed in so they could prep. Dad rushed her in there whilst I got the job or waking my sister up and alerting her to the fact we may lose her only animal and it's kittens Well she made it to the vet, was still alive, they put her in an oxygen chamber and gave her an IV... I rang dad regularily to see how she was going, somehow still hanging in there... They declared they were going to do x-rays I said that was fine, I was going to front the bill no matter what... So they took x-rays, no breaks, but it didn't bring back good results She had what they said was a herniated diaphram and liquid on on her lungs, which from my understanding is a ruptured diaphram which doesn't allow the internal pressures to stay how they are meant to sit making it hard for her to breath, slowly bleed out and have the possibility of having a kitten move into there and make it worse. I had made my decision, I was going to go ahead with the surgery (surgery alone was 3.5k) Dad wouldn't allow me to, they'd made it clear she had very little chance of coming out of it alive, I said I didn't care and to try it... Dad kept going on about how much of a waste of money it would be if she didn't make it which was very likely, once again I said I didn't care, then they started filling my sisters head with negative after negative of how Delilah is in pain, the kindest thing to do would be put her down. I let Cate make the decision. I asked if they could please rescue the kittens, they said they wouldn't incase they weren't 63 days old yet or else they'd not make it out alive, I asked if they could please check, they said there was no way to check, I asked them if they could open her up to check if they were, they wouldn't So not only was my cat put down, but all her kittens with her, we don't know how old they were, how many were in there or if they were able to be rescued. I was fuming! Dad got home with her body about 1 hour later, he asked me not to be angry at him, I said I wasn't (lie) because it was Catherine's choice of what to do with her cat. I then went on to make it clear that every other animal still in this house belongs to me and this situation wouldn't arise again in the future, what I say goes, end of story. Regardless of cost or chances, it's an option I won't turn down to save a life. Well there's one happy part to this story, we got to save the life of a gorgeous little kitten. My sister and I decided we still wanted to experience another cat pregnany in the future but all our other cats are desexed, well we contacted a breeder of ragdolls, she didn't have anything for a few weeks and even then were only males... we were a little upset (had also looked at cat shelters and rescues, they only re-home desexed cats and kittens, no options) Well after getting off the phone to the breeder the phone rang, it was her again... she'd rung back, said she had a little female kitten 7 weeks old which didn't have a good prospect of being re-homed do to a hernia etc as people didn't want her and that she could send us through photo's if we wanted... we said yes imediatly well if you can't guess we fell in love, she's absoloutly gorgeous, a little girl now named Lilly. The breeder was having a hard time finding her a home due to the fact that she'll need surgery in the future and more than liekly ongoing medical bills etc. I said that wasn't a problem and explained our situation, she was shocked that we were going to pay that much for delilah to be saved and said she was definatly going to the right home if we were willing to pay for medical costs and that she'd only let her go to people like us. Even better than just coming to a home where she would be loved and given the right treatment she's now been adopted by a new mummy, my 7 yr old blue heeler x kelpie, Bindi. She's in love! Mothers this kitten as if it's her own and less that 12 hours after getting her was already producing milk for the kitten, who's been trying to suckle on her but Bindi's is yet to let down her defences that far Well here's some photo's of a good outcome for a new life after such horrible circumstances which brought her to us! http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff16/1libby/PA250877.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff16/1libby/PA250887.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff16/1libby/PA250888.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff16/1libby/PA250900.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff16/1libby/PA250901.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff16/1libby/PA250908.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff16/1libby/PA250897.jpg www.perthragdolls.com - Her dad is on there but her mum isn't... His name is Milo Sorry for the rant, but it was just such a big weekend I needed to share
  16. Agree, they're yf2 DF spangles, easy enough to confuse when young considering DF spangles are born with plum eyes
  17. I say sky violet Opaline spangle and agree, it's a hen Gorgeous bird!
  18. Always another thought, sloppy sand Then if any birds did ever manage to get into there they wouldn't drown and the branch would still have water Looks excellent, I need to give my birds fresh branches again, gave some a few weeks back, but they've stripped them... Gotta wait for the neighbours bottle brush to grow back from my "prunings"
  19. Sorry for your loss, but excellent news for your son !!!! When god closes a door he opens a window xxx hugs xxx
  20. Excellent you found a foster If worst comes to worst kaz and you do end up having to rear them i'll lend you my incubator/brooder
  21. OMG!!! Wow!!! Look at that, absoloutly stunning  I'm green with envy He's gorgeous!
  22. I'd say cinnamon spangle for the hen :bump:
  23. Gotcha Yeah with airflow, a fairly strong one that will work better, or else it'd be like being trapped in a steamy bathroom, not pleasant.
  24. He's a yf blue df dom pied and maybe spangle or opaline also. He's very pretty :hi: Try switching his plastic and dowel perches for some natural branches if you can
