If I get time a Lunch today I am going to go out and buy one. I do want one cause I think I should weigh my Budgies each time that I treat / catch them that way I can catch issues early on.

I tried to do this but none of my scales will weigh her so I have to go find one that takes VERY small amounts. Her poo is still very green and lots of it but not as watery as before.

Yes she was at the vets on Friday and on meds I think I will keep and eye on it, don't want to have to stress her out to catch her each day but think I might have to. If it gets worse then straight to the vets if it is no better by Saturday then to the vet if it gets better will just keep an eye on it.

Nope she is in a flight cage 61x41x41 or about that size. I did not feed her grit we believe that the last owner did so she gets seeds and waterless veggies cause of the med's she is on. It looks it but I flipped Lemon over and size wize she it's about the same size as far as i can tell cause lemon has feathers (they are about the same size budgie) Sky is just just missing all the feathers... I might leave it and keep an eye on it over the week and on Saturday see about getting another vet app as she seems to be getting better but the spongey crop and this, maybe I am just expecting to much to soon. I have not seen her pluck them but you never know with Budgies

I know the feeling I want to video Harley when he jumps on my hand while I change the water cause it is cute but I need two hands the hand to hold the water and the hand to hold the cage not sure where I am going to put the video!

New Breeding cages *does a happy dance*

Well just spoke to her asked her to remove the large items so I can move everything to the middle/front to do the roof and mark off the Budgie section and just do it and the gym later down the track.

okay she has seemed to inprove over the last few days. She seems happier and healther eating well. We still have large amounts of poo so I decided to clean it up on the first night gross but that's all part of budgie ownership. Well tonight I noticed that it was a little messy again and again I caught her and cleaned it only to discover that she seems to have lost all her feathers in that area I am not sure if she is plucking them or if they are falling out due to the large amount of poo that she is creating at the moment or if there is another reason. I have read that tail bobbing and missing feathers around the vent is a sign they are in breeding condition but how could she be????? She is sick! Any suggestions PS sorry for the bad picture stupid camera kept trying to focus on the teatowel not the budgie! Also anyone know what could cause a spongey crop and how long I could expect for it to remain if it was for ingesting large amounts of shell grit?

Whatever at the moment I am so mad my boss was suppose to get rid of all her stuff out of my garage by the middle of next month at the latest and instead I find out the end of September is when she is looking at doing it so all plans are on hold untill then! :mellow:

Dose = 20ml of cordial to 1L of water (can be up to 1:10 parts cordial to water) daily until symptoms clear. Thanks will have to get some to keep on hand.

I want to put a sink in, there is water running to the outside toliet but I got a cost and it has to go on a wall I don't want it to go on and I think for the time being it will go on my wish list. :budgiedance: Yeah I have been looking today and think that I might have an issue. What I plan on doing is either literally pick up the avairy and move it to the other end of the garden or move the birds into the breeding cages that I am going to get. I also sort of want the slab for the avairy laid first as then workment are not going to be trampling through my nice clean breeding room. As for green i was thinking that going to have to do colour samples and see what I can work out.

okay after measuring things out I have had a rethink about how to place the cages. I have to admit I sat down and was like, I want this and this and this and this and this and then Dad and Rob said "okay but you have this amount of money..." Opps! :budgiedance: So my plan of attach is, Cages (which are coming in the next few weeks that way IF I need them I can set them up on my back patio) Back door wire (will pick one up and replace wire with avairy wire) Roof & Lights & Elec, (going to get plaster board sheets put up with instuation bats above them between the beems. I also want some power points in the garage as I need to plug the tread mill in but also for the fridge etc...) Paint, (I can't do this till my boss removes all her junk and till the roof is done) Floor, (going to paint and then under the cages lay a small amount of lino just to help with cleaning) Partition (Going to get a frame made about half way down the garage that will allow me to attach avairy wire to it, there will also be a simple door in this frame that way if I bird gets out then they can not get to the gym equitment) Back Door Glass (will see if I can find a second hand one or pick one up cheap somewhere along the line) Front door Glass (this really depends on the Body Corp letting me do it. If not then I need to find a way to seal it up better as there is a draft that comes through it. I want to do the skylight but working out costs it is something that I might do much later down the track when I have more money. I really just want my boss to pick up all her stuff so I can get started. Anyone know which is the best brand of paint to use? I went to a paint store and was told to use one brand cause it was baby safe but reading the back of the pack it says not to use around small animals! I am going with White walls and concrete grey floor, the paint for the floor that I was going to use is not great with fumes so maybe I just get the good stuff and all the birds will have to move out of the avairy for a few days. Why am I starting to feel like this is a much bigger job then I originally thought?

Do you give it straight or do you mix it? Another thing that is good for birds is Beet Water. Boil Beets and give them the water, yes they may turn their heads red but I know that when my guys look a little under the weather I give them this instead of regular water for two days and it picks them up. If not then I move to something stronger and vet visits. Looking forward to an update as it sound like your little baby is doing much better.

A few people have talked about their budgies sleeping like this so I snapped a picture of mine. Here is from left to right Flame, Mozzie and Blue. This has to be the coldest spot in the aviary but there they are! Also so cute once I had snapped the photo they all woke and and where looking at me like, "Here mum do you mind!"

My boyfriend is a tech geek works in a computer store and built my computer I have one and never had any issues with it outside that it is full!

I am amazed at the turn around in just a few days she has brighten so much. Still have a spongey crop and pooping alot but not as much as the other day. Also put her near a closed window so she can see the birds outside and she has been singing away to them and dancing around her cage, still has not gotten the message that she can't grip that well and keeps falling off her perches! But she is MUCH better then she was on Thursday when I got her.

I am happy how involved the RSPCA is in this case outside of wanting me to hand her in.
