Norm i thought you where in your 30s but then I figure we have internet ages and real life ages most people think that I am in my teens on the net and I am not. Neat I love your babies! and Pie as I said before if they stayed like that I would come and steal them from you :rip: but then they grow up.....

I had a hunt around and could not fine anything that says no to this idea. In fact I really like the idea and was trying to work out how I can do it with mine! I did find a few sites that said that contact was bad if they eat it but if you keep an eye on it they should be fine.

Try a differnt drinker one they can't soak the seed in. Try moving the drink dish to another spot in the cage. I find that some of my guys do that to I have the water higher then the food dish and it's not an issue.

The base of mine are about 2 inches thick. Still waiting to hear what the sizes are. If you go to your local pet store and get them to give you the measurements of the ones they normally have in they are what I call side opening ones. Then that is about the size of mine.

This comes down to a cost thing but you might consider it. Ironing pick up, basically a company that picks up clean clothes irons them and drops them off the next day. get a cleaner in one day a week if you can so you can have the day off. If you can't afford a cleaner talk to your family. My mum comes down one day a week and cleans house, changes sheets and does all the washing and ironing. So instead of paying a cleaner we pay her for a days worth of work. Dad likes the outing (he goes down the street with his guide dog and gets a coffee and a pie) mum likes the extra cash and I would rather pay her! Even if it is only once a month getting someone in for the day so you can come home to a clean house and do something with you kids is worth it if you can find the money. Parting with $100 once a month might sound like alot but trust me there is nothing better then taking a day off and knowing when you get home everything is clean and for some reason once it's clean it seems to stay cleaner longer!

Put her in a breeding cage with a cock if they have egg then you have a hen sorry not much help pretty face for a Budgie however.

they have to give you at least a two week window. i will check with my friends who run a pet store and they can tell me what their obligation would be.

I just dunk my guys feet in water, normally they bum and everything else gets wet as well. Do look into getting him to a vet to be on the safe side.

I use to worry about that but then I got a helper, my sister and my boyfriend so I figure that someone will feed them!

See it's all about setting this out and having an order. So I do the daily things Birds, Dogs, dishes, cooking Then I say on Monday nights I am going to clean the bathrooms Tueaday is the bedrooms Wednesday is the living rooms Thursday is the kitchen Friday is my day off Weekend is constant cleaning and changing sheets. Then I spot clean each day. i think where most people go wrong is they try to clean the whole house each day forget it not going to happen so just make sure you have your known trouble areas clean them on a daily base and just set time asside for one room each day and you will get there. Also de clutter... the less stuff you have the less time it takes to clean it up!

I have lines on my feed dishes I have worked out that if I fill each dish to the line then when I refill it they are intrested in their food by not starving this way i just dump the left overs. Sure I might waste some seed but it's pretty much the left over stuff they don't like anyway. I tried the whole blowing seed thing and got so annoyed that I gave up!

I always had this image of you in my head around the late 20's but you have grown up kids! Deb if they stayed cute like your little one I would have one but then they grow up Liv - butter would not melt in their mouths! Does he have a ring? If so then you can show him. As long as the bird has a ring you can show them however if they are not show standard then they will not win. So up to you. Pictures would help however.

Have left a message with the guy that is making mine and when he gets back to me will let you know. The concave does not need to be on seperate wood/removal pannel however it does make cleaning easier. Most of my current boxes do not have them but my new ones will. Really it is up to you but I would if you can.

MB I just assumed that you had and did not tell us, you know how everyone is about quarantine on this board (and not saying it is a bad thing!)

My guys went from being indoor in large cage to outdoor in a aviary just fine. However just don't go putting them out for the first time in the middle of winter as they may not be able to handle the cold. I moved mine outside onto the patio to get them use to the change and adjust naturally to the change. Otherwise they should be fine.

I thought about it but not sure I would get away with it!

don't let that put you off neat I think it would help the show ring not hamper it so i am happy to support the show names for Budgies movement!

- Daz's are BIG I am getting some made up in the same style but smaller not sure of the exact dimension so others can help you out. - I have three inche posts on some and on others T bars that stick out about a inch. I have one hen who chews her post off so I have a branch running from the corner of the box to the side of the cage so really up to you as long as one Budgie can perch on it that should be long enough. - I don't have any inside the nestbox, some people have steps but i don't have them either - I have heard they are good and others say they are bad, I don't have them and untill I see a reason to put them in i will continue to not use them. I think they are suppose to stop the mothers from stepping on the chicks and eggs while getting in and out. - Easy to clean material with a concave - I don't think it makes a difference I have some that are on the left and some in the centre. Please remember I am only new at this myself so most is personal opinions. I am sure other breeders will also give you their advice.

Two of my guys have show names that the breeder gave them so there are others out there that do the same!
