    yes they are worth reading as you will get valueable info about what you should and shouldnt do. the newer books are more important with updated info but some of the older books do have good info

  3. i checked my eggs today and found 1 hatching but it had died midway through. i'm hoping the next egg hatch and it lives
  4. well the 2 eggs that i fostered out to my next door neighbour could be hatching soon as her eggs are now hatching. my white fallow has laid her 6th egg today, yf2 grey has finished laying with her 2 eggs, yf2 grey pied has finished with 4 eggs, yf2 cobalt also has 4 eggs, and my other girls have a couple each.
  5. i give my birds raw greens. i grow my own silverbeet, have an orchard and will soon plant corn seeds. mine arnt interested with carrot or apples but love silverbeet and really love corn on the cob. i've also cut an orange in half and they have picked at it so i might try another soon. i also have milk thistle growing in my backyard for the birds
  6. i normally wait untill their starting to feather before handling them. i prefer them have some warmth when i take them out of the box when than when they are still pinkies and cant controll their body temp.

  8. he has paired up with a yf2 cobalt and they have 2 eggs at the moment with a touch of yellow affecting her chest

  13. a new boy i got recently, he is also a clearwing these two belong to my white fallow and my dilute green so happy the greys are finally have eggs. she has been sitting in boxes for a very long time and i was worried that she was infertile but there are 2 eggs 2 new birds my boss brought for me. the yf2 blue pied replaces my albino that died and the green spangle is a youngster my quails i also found 1 egg in a box but dont know who it belongs too and an egg in another and that belongs to my yf2 cobalt and yf2 skyblue clearwing (possible spangle, he is on another thread)

  15. yesterday i went door to check on my two eggs that i fostered out and the mum has accepted them. i now have eggs to my yf2 grey pair, eggs with my yf2 grey danish,and eggs with my fallow so all is happening again. i replaced the albino that died with a yf2 cobalt danish. the female that attacked and caused the lose of the first lot of eggs is in a small avairy with a yf2 skyblue spangle and i'm hoping to get a yf2 albino. will put new pics on soon when i have a day free (hopefully sunday)
  16. yes i have quails in my avairy and they have hollow logs hop in and there is a large tree branch on the floor so they can be under. i keep them to help keep the wasted seed down to a minimum and as i have a dirt floor with bark i have no troubles with bugs.

    never thought of using lino as a floor. i rent my house so i cant concrete the floor, i just use the ground with bark and sawdust from firewood cutting and lino would be much easier to keep clean
  22. just wondering if someone knows how to put rings on budgies because i have a fallow in my avairy laying eggs soon and if i get any young fallows i want to keep them identified from the other babies so i can keep them. thanks

  24. i brought him from an avairy that had a lot of combination yf2 blues and other colours. he has paired up with a yf2 cobalt and wont be long till i see eggs. i am fascinated by what colours they will give.
