looks great. yes offer the kids something for the cubby house. tell them that you cant wait till they have lost interest in the cubby house.
  4. i do the same. the hens normally lay 1 or 2 eggs then stop
  5. Love your pied. they look great
  6. Sorry NickNack, but no you cant have him/her. Thanks for your name contributions, but it looks like NAPOLEAN wins. Full name is NAPOLEAN FEATHERS-APART. I did have FRENCHIE as a thought but my other half just gave me a look of that why i threw it over to you guys. Napolean will be removed from the parents permently in a couple of days to live inside with us, just gotta watch my cat but i dont think there will be a problem. Its still too young to know whether its a male or female, but I'm hoping its male as I want to teach to talk.
  7. not yet we cant think of a name. any suggestions?
  8. this is the only french moult bird that i didnt cull. he/she is just too pretty so i got a cage for the bird and it will become a pet brd which i'll tame. trying to fly even though it has french moult, i think the tail and wings are perfectly neat and tidy.
  9. love what you did
  10. i removed the boxes out of the avairy and removed the birds out of the breeding shed and have circled FEB 1 2009 to restart my breeding. it will be a long 12 month wait. am i able to breed my parrots when their season starts in july as the bourkes are in the aviary with the budgies? thanks for all the info, and if you have anymore info keep it comming
  11. thanks Norm thats sounds interesting. just another question now that FM is in my bird shed next to the avairy am i stuck with FM?

    go with natives
  13. if french moult is a virus then how does it transmit? in another cage i have more french moult and its very frustrating because i'm getting some beautiful colours. the parents of both lots of young that had/has the moult haven't had any contact with each other. i've never had the moult in the avairy but since i started breeding birds in the cages i had. all the birds are fed the same feed.
  14. i warned you about the freezer
  15. i breed 1 yellow-faced to 1 white-faced and you shold theoretically get 50% yf and 50% white faced

  22. i have bred 2 of these from a clutch of 6 young, the others are yf1 blue and normal blue. the parenta are mauve and mum is opaline yf sea-greeny. any guess what combo this 1 is and could i get rainbows if i put this one to a white wing blue? thanks i just love this combo
  23. i have a batch of 6 young currently leaving the box and my only 2 normal blues have what i think is frenh moult. was wondering if there is anything i could do to prevent this from happening again and will the feathers eventually grow? is this condition passed on from the parents or is it a safe bet to sell the parents? thanks
